Greetings to you in His name!

There were a lot of things which happened last weekend that brought me much joy. The three day nation wide prayer and fasting was a success, not just at Living Water, but all over the land.

Inside crowd last Sunday morning

We had about 800 people every day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Over 32 people came forward — two of whom were witchdoctors. There was a lady in her late 60s and a young man in his early 30’s. My kids were all excited about the whole thing.

When a false rumor broke saying that our current president surrendered his life to God, my sons were crazy hoping that was true. I had great joy deep within me seeing that they realize it would make a difference in the direction of their country if the main leader were a Christian.

Nevertheless my health was not that great. Saturday afternoon my stomach was upset. Then in the evening I had to make frequent visits to the throne. This made a long night. Thank God I was not preaching Sunday morning. I was too weak to stand for that length of time. My face could not even hide my fatigue and weariness.

To make things worse, Gine, my wife, joined me in the misery. She recovered quicker than I did. Today has been my best day since Saturday. I was getting tired of my liquid diet, so tonight I had some rice and beans with chicken. Although I could not have the amount I usually enjoyed it was still tasty.

There is joy in our camp

I am sure that you have heard about the unfortunate event that happened Monday in Cap Haitian. We grieve with the parents of those four children. It hurts deeper when parents lose children who are about the same age as your own. We continually need prayers for all the country of Haiti.

We could not go to Leogane for food distribution today because many of us were not feeling well in the team. It was not just my wife and me. We had a meeting and decided to go next Tuesday.

Thinking it deeper, we also realized that we cannot make distribution to both Leogane and Petit-Goave in one trip even if we used two buses. In fact we will need two buses to carry the stuff we will distribute.

So next Tuesday we will go to Leogane, Lord willing, and then Saturday of the same week we will go to Petit-Goave. Our ladies and our men will start buying the supplies tomorrow. We scheduled to make the packages next Monday and load the buses that evening so we can leave early Tuesday. Pray for these trips.

In the meantime we are serving those who took refuge in Gonaives. It is estimated that we have 40,000 people who have taken refuge in Gonaives itself. The estimate is up to 70,000 people for Gonaives and its surrounding area. So, we have a lot of people within our imaginative walls to help.

We originally thought we would only be able to take 50 students who were in Port-au-Prince during the earthquake. Well, now we have 70 students. That has increased our student body to about 625 students.

These students, as I said in a previous posting, won’t pay a dime to go to our school — at least for this year. We have provided a uniform to them all. Each student has also received funds to buy one pair of black shoes to come to school or other events they choose to go to. Tomorrow we will start the distribution of the books and this will go through the weekend and into the next week.

We also have in our office several request letters that we will start sorting out and see which one and how we can satisfy their requests parallel with preparing the trip to Petit-Goave. We need a lot of help to alleviate the pain of some.

This event does bring some people closer to God. Many of those who surrendered their lives to Jesus would not have done so if they did not realize how fragile life is. We will have about 30 baptisms next Sunday afternoon. Please pray for these people as they are pondering their decisions.

Please also pray for the construction of the Church building. Even with two services we still have some people outside. This past Sunday we had about 800. We will see what this Sunday will bring.
