2008 Annual Meeting

2008 Annual Meeting

Dear fellow soldiers of the cross,

Greetings to you in the name of Our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ!

Let me tell you about our annual meeting we had last week. It was a great meeting. We took time to count the wonders of God among us during the last twelve months and we were humbled by the things that God has done. Here is a brief list. (1) The concrete roof was put on the second school building. (2) Electric was installed in the school.

(3) Construction of the school cafeteria began. (4) We receive two shipping containers with chairs to solve our problem of seating people. (5) The wall of the new church property was built. (6) New computers were added to the computer lab. (7) New sponsors for children in the school and also new supporters. Recently Miamitown Church of Christ added us to their list of supported missions. We thank them and praise God for that. We had about 30 big things for which we praised God. God has given us consistent victories over demonic forces. The Church grew both numerically and spiritually in that same twelve months period.

Worship despite the rain and mud

Worship despite the rain and mud

Our hurricane season starts in June and our rainy season starts in May. During the summer people travel to villages or other cities and if we have rain on the weekend it always reduces church attendance. Despite the bad weather the people do their best to be in the church service. Last Sunday I expected only 200 people at church but we had 253 people. Some people traveled several miles through water and mud to come to worship at Living Water. Typically after three days of rain we do not expect a large attendence, but we were all happily suprised. Please continue to pray for Living Water. We baptized 6 people into Christ last week. Praise God and pray for them.

There is good news from the recent student tests at our school. The results are back from the government tests. We had 11 out of 12 students in the 6th grade who pass the test and 15 out of 17 in the 9th grade who pass it. Both are good results. We praise God for that. The actual grades of the two we have who did not pass in 9th grade allow them to take the test again in a week. If they pass we will have the 100% passing rate we want. We will continue to work hard in order to continue to offer a quality education to the students in the community.

In the leadership meeting yesterday we decided to have a group of people pray for the construction of the church building. They will have their first formal meeting tomorrow at 9 AM. I want you to join us in prayer so that we find the funds for the church building. We will need one million dollars to finish the project due to rising prices. Pray for that money. All things are possible with Christ. Just pray.

I am glad that my wife, Gine, is back from her trip. The whole family rejoices with her return and we are having a blast together. We also have Ashley and Kaytee visiting with us. They will spend the week and we have already put them to work. Kaytee is a member of Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg, where she attended Central with Ashley. They are both friends of Karene Heberlein. They will stay with us up to this weekend and then Luke will return to the US with them.

We love you. We thank you for all that you have done for us. Again, we count on your prayers.

In Christ,
Salonique Adolphe and team
