Challenge!!!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you in His name!

Last Sunday brother Louis Jean Gilles, one of our beloved ministers at Living Water, preached a vibrant message in both services entitled “God will overcome our challenges.” He used the Old Testament as his texts.  He concluded with an illustration which exhorts us not to look at our challeges, not to listen to those who are challenging us, but to fix our eyes on God who will give us the victory. He used  1 Samuel 17 to drive his points home very well. There 80 times in a space of 40 days Goliath kept challenging the people of Israel. We needed a message like that and, as a well informed leader, he knows we need to hear the message.

(Sorry for switching thoughts just for a second.)

As I am typing this, in the background there are the voices of 760+ students of our school who are singing: “by our beloved Savior’s side, I want to stay constantly. He changes Winter and Summer and Fall into a new Spring.” You would be glad to be here to listen to these melodious young voices. They are doing the morning devotion.

(Let me go back to talking about our challenges.)

This year we have a lot more professors and new classrooms.  This means many more staff hours and consequently, we will need more money to pay our teachers. We added more people people on staff. As we all know, growth comes with a price tag. We beg you to join us in prayer that God continues to provide money that we need to pay salaries and to feed those students daily.

Another problem we are again dealing with daily is “chairs.” We need a lot more chairs. They don’t complain about that at all, but things would go smoother if we did not have to take all the chairs from our sanctuary to classrooms as our people are going to Sunday school every Sunday. Then we have to bring them back again for second service. Furthermore, during the week we don’t have enough chairs in the cafeteria for our students. At the present my wife and her crew feeds some of them in their classroom.  However, that is another headache for the ladies to move back and forth with food, plates and the like and then the cleaning.

We ask you to pray for our leaders as they are making tough decisions in the service of the King of kings. The old devil keeps attacking our students in the school.  While many are being freed, new ones are being attacked. Please pray for our students as well.

Please pray for me, I am leaving Gonaives in just a few minutes to head to Port-au-Prince to fly into the USA on my way to Africa. Pray for the whole team. There will be 14 in total. We will be preaching crusades in Monrovia, Liberia.

As the enemy is fighting many more are entering into the Kingdom. This past week we had several baptisms and Roselande, one of our students, accepted Christ as her savior. In the third picture she is leaving the water. It was muddy, yet she came out of it with her sins washed away. How about that?

The body of believers of Living Water met, as usual last Sunday. There were about 625 of us in service. Praise to God for each and every one of them.

The project of a Church building for Living Water is still a challenge, yet our God is able!

May God give you a wonderful day.

In Christ,
Salonique Adolphe
