It is just the beginning!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you all in His name!

Last year was a very eventful year and full of unwanted surprises. However, they all confirm that God’s promises remain true in all circumstances. He said: “I am with you.” Isaiah 43 testifies that He is with us whether we are in the raging waters or in the fire. Certainly, God was with us.

We are breathing the last minutes of the first 19 days of the year here. Now we have a post election crisis that we are dealing with. During the same time, just a few days short of 25 years, Jean Claude Duvalier is back in the country. Nobody wants to assume responsibility for his arrival, either on a national scale or on an international level. He has been arrested then released. We will have to keep our eyes and ears open to see how this play will end. In everything God’s plan for Haiti will prevail.

Here at Living Water God has already done many things for us. We give HIM honor and glory for His provisions. One of them was the arrival of Harold and Elliot at the closing of last year. Elliot was here to survey the situation and Harold was here to teach. He ended the year with Colossians for the students of the Bible College and also resumed the new year with Colossians. He preached a vibrant message from the same book to both services. We praise HIM for that.

That is just the beginning because we are expecting the arrival of Dr. Ron Oakes to teach our student body.We hope that brother Chad Summer will be able to make it here at some point this year and hopefully Regina Green also.

The two buses arrived and are now empty on our campus. Everything is already arranged in the storage room waiting to be distributed over the weekend. During the day, with 800 students (elementary and high school), plus the students of both the vocational school and Bible College, this place is too busy for the kind of work involved in classification, packaging and distribution. We hope to do so over the weekend.

The buses were filled with chairs that are already being used. The school supplies have already been put to work. Also with the arrival of these buses there is a thirst from many of our leaders to drive buses. So they have been in training since yesterday to become bus drivers. With God, I believe that this is just the beginning.

We still long for the arrival of a dump truck here. Many have already contributed for the purchase of a dump truck. I thank all of you who have already contributed. I also pray that many more will join this cause so we can have our own dump truck to haul building material. A tool like that will significantly reduce our building expenses. Let us continue to pray for that.

We have already worshipped God three Sundays in 2011. The first Sunday we had almost 500 people total for all the services. The second and third sunday we had over 650 in worship. We pray that this is just the beginning. We pray for growth. We are not just asking for more numbers. More importantly, we want to give God more committed and faithful members of the kingdom.

There are good signs that this is currently taking place. We can see it in the spiritual growth of many teenagers, young adults and adults alike. We can see it in the love our people are developping for Sunday school classes. They make the time count for their spiritual growth. We wholeheartedly pray that this is just the beginning. We beg you to continue to pray for the spiritual growth of our people. Of course the enemy is not taking any vacation. He is working like crazy. Pray for his continual failure.

We anticipate the arrival of a couple of groups in February. One group will be here for the 8th anniversary celebration. The other group will be here the weekend following that. Please pray for a great trip for both groups. Pray for Haiti. We are praying for you too.

May the blessings that you have alreay enjoyed in 2011 are just the beginning.

In Christ,

Salonique Adolphe and team
