Not by sight

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you in the name of JESUS, the greatest and the most powerful name ever!

We worship God for what He has done for us in the last eight years. We praise HIM for His gracious provisions. We exalt HIM for every single partner that He has given us during those years in all different facets of the ministry of Living Water. We know HE is able. The things that He did for us in the last 8 years were done by faith, NOT BY SIGHT. We will need to trust Him again during the coming years to move our humongous mountains. Before talking about those challenges, let me give you a brief report about the last two missions teams that we have had.

The first team we received in February was mostly from Ohio. They came from different churches, but predominantly Miamitown Church of Christ. We had Dr. Oakes and brother Brian Sevitts from Moberly, MO. That group of men did a wonderful job. Let me tell you how they have transformed our campus. The school bathrooms were being used without being completed. It was a tough place to work. They finished them with nice doors and signs. Talk to me about doing things in the name of Jesus out of love.

They worked in construction. The construction of the dinning hall was at a halt before they came and now it is back to progress again. They came with funds to push its progress and they worked hard during the days they were with us to do as much as possible. You could not distinguish college professors from preachers, from contractors or company leaders. They worked as one team in the name of Jesus. Thanks to them and praise the Lord for their impact.

The second team arrived the same day the first team left. They came from College Heights Christian Church in Joplin, MO. What a team of tough and flexible men and women of God. First none of their bags arrived with them. We got them the next day after travelling to and from Port-au-Prince. Praise God! They started to work Monday. We had three and half days to work.

The team saw over 350 patients. Praise God for the hearts of these beloved brothers and sisters. Dr. Bob had a tough time, but he saw in all of that the hands of God; the Healer who healed him. After they left I had several people who came to me to say thanks. The problems they had battled for over 6 years were cured. There is one particular pill that did wonders. One patient told me “one pill” — just one pill and I spent all those years in suffering.

I cannot tell you the impact of their work because it is beyond my explanation. They not only saw patients, they also gave training to the nurses of the church. We need a medical team very badly. God provided the best we need. This was done “Not by sight.”

All cases from cancer thru pregnancy to all age sickness

All cases from cancer thru pregnancy to all age sickness

Brothers and sisters; people who believe in the power of prayer and in the All Powerful God, I am making an appeal to you. It is a very serious appeal. We seriously need the church construction. What about the construction of the clinic? I hear you say. That too. I think it will take the prayers of all of us to get the construction of the church done. We need all the help we can get.

Right now, we do not have control over the first service, because people sit in classrooms, in hallways, and on the porch. It is serious. This morning we had a wedding. We had only one spot for three choirs because there was not enough space for people inside and there were more people outside than inside. Imagine.

The church continues to grow in spite of that. So, I need your help. Living Water needs your help with the church construction. We need your prayers. We need your mind and yours skills. We need your financial help to get this project done.

Monexant, our evangelism leader, said to me the other night that we are just beginning to be in trouble. Our original dream to build a church to hold two thousand people is questionable. I told him, I just need a building because even with a building that size I can still have two services.. We need space. Actually we could have a church of a thousand by now if we had the space.

Strategizing how to serve all those people

So talk to anybody you know about this. Ask your Sunday school class or whatever group you are working with to step up and help us. We need this. It is done by faith, not by sight. Honestly, my only hope to get this building built is GOD. My friend Scott quoted last time he was here (I forget the name) saying: “Attempt things that are so big that they are doomed to failure unless God is involved.” This is one of them. Help!!!

Your brother and His son,
