Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you all in His name!

I thank my God for all of you who are praying for us as Hurricane Gustav is hitting Haiti. Please continue to pray so that it might lose its strength and that normal weather returns. We had rain last night. We still have rain at the present. I hope that it stops as the afternoon hours are approaching. We already have five people dead and 7 injuried.

Church Service, August 24, 2008

Last Sunday, we had a wonderful service. Both Churches were full (adult and junior). We had 148 children in junior worship, we had roughly 260 adults. So we worshipped with over 400 people. Ryswick led the song service, Jude Dessalines led the offering and communion meditation and I (Salonique) preached. The message was geared toward the youth/college age people of the Church, which is basically the majority of the congregation, for we would be in a bind to find 25 people above age 50 in the whole Church. That may relate to the fact that life expectancy is respectively 52 and 49 for women and men. But as a young congregation with a young staff we could expect that.

Last Wednesday, Jude Lozin held Bible study in my place. Today I am suppose to do it, but I doubt that I will be able to because of the Hurricane watch and the rain. We are studying Salvation again. Every year, we plan to teach this series. This is the second time for this series. In our very next session we will study baptism.

In spite of our financial difficulties we timidly continue the work on the cafeteria. We pray that God will touch some hearts to provide funds so that we can complete this worthy project. We praise God for those who have already donate to the RBK program. May God shower His blessings on you. Please encourage anybody who wants to donate funds to a good cause to donate to Living Water. Encourage friends to be supporters of RBK in particular.

I have included three pictures: (1) for the cafeteria to show its progress, how it looks this very hours, (2) a picture of the worship service, you will see in it that the space issue is not really solved and (3) a picture of Rosemond. Rosemond is a very responsible young men: responsible to train students in the votech; take pictures; teach sunday school at Living Water; enter our data in computer and the like. He is a bright young man with a lot of potential. Please pray for him.

I am doing well. I slowed down this week again. This way I can recuperate some. This weekend we will welcome Bill Fudge and Scott Hudson, both are from Cincinnati. Bill will help with the Church construction and Scott will train teachers. Please pray for them and for the success of their trip.

Please pray for me and I will be praying for you. Thanks for all you have done for us in the past and for your continuous support.

In Christ,

Salonique
