Living Water: An update

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in His name!

I am sending this to you in the wee hours of the morning. Today is another busy day for us here. I won’t be able to attend both services here because I am going to visit the church in Marmelade. I will leave right after the message of the first service, then head to Marmelade with Jude. We will have a meeting there and visit with Ezechiel, the minister of the church. We hope to return this evening and pray for the vehicle not to have any problem whatsoever.

Last week we had brother Doug Delp and Roy Miller with us. What a time it was! Doug preached last Sunday and taught a wonderful class on preaching out of the Pastoral Epistles. He shared lots of wisdom to equip the students to prepare their message in a less stressful way. That means for them not to wait for the last minute. He taught them how to plan months ahead what they are going to preach. He made it look very easy and the students enjoyed his teaching. Before he left they all had sermons for 2 months with the homework they made in class, whether individual or in groups. Great time!

Roy, on the other hand, fixed things. One of his major accomplishments was to level the ground where the transitional church will be. I was amazed at how quickly he did it. Now my wife would say Roy’s major accomplishment was fixing her sink. We can leave that for debate. We were blessed and still are by their love for Jesus and for His people.

I am running late for church service so I will stop here. I will be at the National Missionary Convention and hope to see some of you there.

We have offers for two matching gifts. Both are for 4,000 dollars.

The first 4,000 dollar gift will go toward finishing the guest house we are building. It will provide space to house visiting teams. We need 8,000 to finish it. One donor has the desire to give 4,000 if other people would match his gift. We have up to Dec. 15 to match this gift.

The second matching gift is also 4,000, but this will go to the general fund. The general fund keeps things going on a day to day basis. We are able to bless a lot of people with this. The gift is of special importance at a time when we are behind in paying our salaries for October. Would you consider making the sacrifice of matching either gift? You can give a small amount and designate it to match one of the two gifts. We hope to raise the matching funds before the Dec. 15 date.
