He Will See us Through

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord and Savior: Jesus!

School started a month ago here in Haiti. So we have started our 13th year of existence. Incredible! Nobody could have predicted that is the way things would turn out today. 

We started with just a few students in the middle of political turmoil. Before the beginning of the next school year we had to face natural catastrophes. We had challenge after challenge. But Our God, who is Almighty, sees us through each and every one of them by His might. He provides. He watches over our student body, teachers, our supporters, and the infrastructure of the school itself. Consequently we are still here impacting people for Him. Only He is the explanation for where we are today and what we are doing. 

These days we still face a lot of challenges.  Some are organizational, but it helps to have people who can work together for a common cause. Others are spiritual because the enemy, I conclude, will not take a break. Still others are financal. However, we trust in the same God who has generously provided for us in the last 12 to 13 years. We trust in His Might. He will see us through.

We trust that God is going to provide funds to drill a good well on the farm property. We could not tackle any significant project like the farm if we did not rely on HIm. Only He can bring to us the right people, with the right tools, the right mindset, the right means and who can fulfill the vision. This year we have not harvested anything. Not one watermelon. Not a pound of peanuts. Not a pound of okra. We only had lalo (a spinach-like vegetable) for three families. That was all. Because we had no rain. 

My heart broke, seriously, when I walked on the farm land few days ago. I started to think about all our investments. Then I realized farmers have to be very patient. They have to have lots of faith to keep going year after year. However the lesson we take is that the next most important investment we can make on the farm now is the well. I pray that the Lord will see us through this also.

When we started the transitional church building we started with about 5,000 dollars. God has done wonders since. We praise Him! We thank each and every one of our donors. We thank every person who has so far worked on it: Timberlake guys like Roy Miller, Mount Carmel C C young folks, Panther Creek (OK) guys like Ashley B., Church on Fire team with brothers Ken B., Allen, Randy, Cory, among others. God has gone over a lot of hoops with us. 

My biggest concern when we started was the roof. How are we going to do it? Will I find a team who would be willing to come to do it? I sat down with brothers like Bill Fudge trying to find solutions. He has been helpful with his suggestions. I sat down with a couple brothers who have done a few roofs here. They were willing but putting a team together was not easy for them. Finally, learning from Bill’s suggestion, we found a small company here whose previous jobs convinced us we can trust them with ours. Well, God sees us through again. All the trusses are mounted. The sheet metal is now paid for. Today Jude, Samuel and couple other guys will go to pick up the roofing in Port-au-Prince. Hopefully tomorrow they will begin the final phase of the roofing process. God is amazing! His generous children amaze me with the size of their hearts. We glorify him for that.

Living Water people here are motivated as well. They will give “their widows mite”. We encourage them to. This way early on December 20th of this year we will move to the new church building. He will see us through, because He is all powerful.
