Celebrating the second anniversary of the Church in Marmelade

Celebrating the second anniversary of the Church in Marmelade

Celebrate with us!!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in His name!

Starting a church in Marmelade was not a short process. My heart was in this place before we even started Living Water. My first trip there was in 1999. It was not only long but also difficult. The two years previous to the establishment of the church involved frequent visits. Many of them included rough and tough experiences.

One concert there ended so badly that our people left the town the same night, contrary to the original plan to spend the night there. Some of our gals got hurt (They threw stones at our people) Among those who were hurt was Josiane. She was going to become the wife of Ezechiel, the minister of the church of Marmelade since day one. But God was with us during all that period and is still with us.

The week when we started the church was a week of multiple attacks from the enemy, and he failed miserably in all of them. Praise be to the All Powerful God: Jesus. Ezechiel’s days there are far from being easy. He suffered false accusations, death of his first child, and false Christians who did anything imaginable to discourage him. Yet, Ezechiel knows HIS God and has not backed off.

Thanks be to God for a credible soldier of the cross. Thanks be to God for a preacher sold on the gospel. Ezechiel has not stopped evangelizing, preaching, teaching and labouring on his knees before the Lord. Consequently the Lord has blessed His work. Over 100 faithful members worship there. Their last revival brought 12 souls to God.

He has with him now several other workers who are laboring along side of him: David, Deplat, Juliana, Mrs Eric and others. The school there continues to grow. The Lord has blessed them with a water purifier through brother Bill Farrar’s ministry. This water purifier is a life saver for the people of the community, especially during the outbreak of cholera. Let us celebrate God’s victory in that village.

Last Sunday, April 3rd, the church celebrated their second anniversary. The church was full. There were about 350 people in the worship service. Brother Jacob brought the message.

We try not to leave Ezechiel on his own, especially in the area of training and encouraging the new believers there. Brothers like Jean Gilles, Fevrier, Casseus, Monexant, Jackson, McKendy, among others have been there to help bro. Ezechiel out in his challenges. There were about 50 people from Gonaives who went to participate in the second anniversary. They had a Spirit-filled time.

In the city they also had a great worship service as well. Brother Rosemond preached on the occasion. And as I am writing this e-mail to you many of the students of our vocational school are taking the government exams. The last picture in this article was about their last training at our school.

I want all of you to know that I have resumed using Skype. My skype name is Salgine (Salonique /Holgine). So let us get connected.

Please celebrate God’s victory with us in Marmelade. Pray for the Church there. Pray for the Church building project, the health clinic project, the radion station, etc.
