Royalty Indeed

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in His name!

Today is May 21st — supposedly this is the day of the King of kings’ return. Those who think the King is returning today may not see any reason that I should write this e-mail today. Knowing that He said “Nobody knows the day, nor the hour” of his return, I imagine that the guy who predicted today as the day will not be an exception. Therefore while we continue to anticipate the day, let us get busy for our King and Savior who died for us.

One of my favorite stories is from July 2006. It involves a little girl who wanted to be a princess. The smart 6 year-old asked her foster parents for permission to be baptized, but they thought she was too young, which would be the case for most of us parents. With tears in her eye, the little girl told me that her parents don’t want her to be princess. Confused, I asked her for an explanation. She told me that God is King. Those who get baptized into Christ become children of God and therefore prince or princess. Therefore she wants to be baptized in order to become of princess. It was then the light went on for me. I believe that she has been a princess for a few years now.

Royalty:  It is something special to be royal. It is true in this material world. It is also true in the spiritual world. Those who are “in Christ” are princes and princesses. Special body guards (Hebrews 1:14) are watching over us 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They protect us; fight for us and close the lion’s mouth for us. They are our firefighters and quench fiery flames for us. They bring answers to our prayers. You name it. All of this, because we are royalty.

God has done amazing things for us this week. Sunday morning, Ezechiel woke up, went to the place where he parked his motorcycle and found that it was gone (stolen). He still had the only key to the motorcycle in his pocket. Monday, two of the 100 kids of the school were playing and one of them put a small stone in the nose of the other. The kid had difficulty breathing and the stone was no where to be seen. Panic! Ezechiel took the child to the clinic in town, still praying all the way for the Lord’s intervention because he knew there was not a chance of finding somebody capable of helping with this problem. After crossing the river, he told the boy to force sneezing. He did. The stone came out, then huge bleeding. Praise God the bleeding stopped and the child was OK.

Wednesday, our school principal’s life was in great danger. A drunk driver was driving his car backward full speed. He hit the motorcycle that the principal was riding with his brother-in-law. The motorcycle was crushed and the principal got hurt a little bit. The people who saw the action cannot believe he is still alive. The driver took off and ran.

Do you think that is enough? Thursday, one crazy bus driver was coming from behind to crash his bus into me. He missed me by what looked like two inches, and crashed the bus into a tap tap (taxi) and another motorcycle. That same day our school children went on a field trip to the Citadelle and had so many blown out tires they could hardly enjoy the trip. Well, the best part was that none of those blow out tires happened in the mountain. They all happened in the flat, level land where it is easier and safer to change tires. We finally got them back to campus by 1 AM the next day. That was seven hours after the time they were supposed to be back.

Well, after all those things, what do you think protects us from having one or more deaths in our midst? Our body guards are efficient. The enemy has been doing his job for thousands of years and so have our body guards. They are the best. We are princesses and princes, so wherever we are, God has the body guards at our disposal. Because we are royalty indeed.

We had a very busy week. We had 7 baptized last Saturday. After our worship services last Sunday, we went to the church property and had a meeting with Bill Fudge. We concluded that we need a transition building while we are building the bigger worship center. There is no way we can stay where we are for too long.

On Monday we had a thanksgiving service for the 8th anniversary of the school. It was a nice service. This year the school chose Cassandra Michel as the speaker on behalf of the student body. She has everything on her side. She is a beautiful and smart 6th grader. She is a born speaker. She is not afraid of the crowd and the grown ups. Her parents and sponsor have many reason to be proud of her.

Tuesday was full of student activities and Wednesday I had Bible Study. Thursday was the field trip. Friday my focus was on writing Sunday school lessons and we had a meeting about the radio station in the afternoon. Last night I watched a movie with my kids. I am leaving for Marmelade with my brother Luke right after I finish this news article. Please pray for us as we are going to drive through mountains and bad roads.
