The School Children at Marmelade

You are Important to us

Dear brothers and sisters,

Life has not ceased to teach me (and hopefully you) to value my relationships. About five years ago my adopted dad died less than 48 hours after being on the phone with him. No one could see this coming. Some family received the terrible news in much less time than that in their life.

I have officiated more funerals in January than in many times I have done in a whole year. Most of them were very sudden. Last week, one of the greatest who ever played the game of basketball, Kobe Bryant, died suddenly along with his 13 year old beautiful daughter (I have a thirteen year old daughter too) and several other precious souls. That news should teach us all to value our relationships.

People are messy. We are messy too. If you doubt that, please ask God if you are messy too. So forgive. Because refusal to forgive is costlier than forgiveness physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Also accept forgiveness. Value each day we get to spend with our loved ones. Please don’t just call them loved ones, really love them.

Tomorrow will mark the 17th anniversary of our first church plant. Incredible! Unbelievable! Many of our important partners have gone home to be with Jesus. I wholeheartedly thank God for all of you are still here impacting Haiti with us. The road has been rough, muddy, slippery, and dark many times. But we have known so many victories together that could only come from an All Powerful God.

Look, every area of the ministry is growing. We are serving more and more people every day and more and more people are surrendering to the Lord. People’s social situations are changing as well. Glory to God and thanks to You. My friends, you are all important to us, to me especially.

I want to thank all of you for engaging in feeding people with us. A special thanks to Whitewater Christian Church and A Child Hope International for providing meals to the children at Highland. Thanks to IDES who have done so much for us through the years. They will help us feed kids in Gonaives and Marmelade again this year. Thanks to IAMM who makes it possible to feed people, not just school kids. Thanks to all those who make the radio station a reality. My friends, hundreds of thousands are coming to Christ, growing roots in Christ, making better choices in life because of it. Thanks so much. You are important to us.

Some of you have told me if I ever need something to let you know. Please, help me pay off the land for the project of the University. These 76 acres are precious. We need 130,000 USD to pay it off and for tax and title fees. God has handed Haiti over to us to but there is cost. We need to train the mind of the leaders, of the workers. We need to instill in them Christian values, so that they can love their country and people in general. If what you give ends up being more than that, well, we need funds for fences and construction. The family whom I am buying from is in need of the money themselves. Whatever you can afford to give with joy, please do.

Jesus Christ will do even greater things than what HE has done in the past seventeen years, but with you. You are important to us and to HIM.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for Haiti. School has been going very well in the whole month of January. Praise be to God. God bless you for standing with us and suffering with us.

Yours in Christ,
Salonique Adolphe
