Your financial support for Living Water Christian Mission is greatly appreciated and will help the work of our Lord in one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. The mission helps feed hundreds of people physically, mentally and spiritually.

In 2008 floods from Hurricane Hannah destroyed many homes and most of the few possessions that the people had. The city continues to suffer from frequent flooding. Any amount you can donate will directly help.

"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward" (Matthew 10:42)

House of Jordany Garcon's parents

Dear brothers and sisters,

"To whom will you compare God?"

Good morning to all of you. My prayer is that you are doing well, very well indeed.

I want to start by thanking all of you because you make it so easy for me to go on. Even if I were tempted to quit, I could not. Because all of you are with, not just me, but the whole family of Living Water, the whole city.

I apologize for the silence of yesterday. The day was not quiet at all. A group of men and women were on the campus of Living Water to unearth chairs from under the mud. They gave them a first treatment to take mud off of them and another group gave them a second treatment before they could take them down to the place to wash them. Micah was in Mexico MO with the brothers and sisters there. Moses and I were in Port-au-Prince at the bank. Then we went to the market where we bought five wheelbarrows and three shovels to add to the ones we salvaged. We had a terrible time. We finally made it home a quarter till 10 PM. There was light rain over the city last night, so our safety was the concern of many people and we were concerned too. That was why I did not say a word yesterday.

First church service after hurricane

Dear beloved brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in His name!

I stayed home yesterday. Today I will also stay home for two reasons: (1) a headache and (2) I am overwhelmed. Dick and Sandy reminded me that I need to take care of myself, and so did my dear sister Regina Green and my friend Warren Ashley. I worked those two days at home. We had the meetings right here in my house. The other guys did the house visits. The best thing that happened today was the worship service. We held it at my house in the livingroom upstairs. We had 41 people show up to pray and praise God, and to share with all of us what God has done for them. The bottom line is that we all praised God for who He is, and for what He has done.

House of L. J. GillesDear brothers and sisters,

I praise My God for all of you. You have made it a weekend of hope for many. We have shared funds that you sent to about 30 families today. One of our brothers showed up at the house and explained to me that his mother is fainting from hunger. He also had a cut on the bottom of his foot. Gine (wife of Salonique) gave him an antibiotic and pain killer. I gave him some money and he went on his way filled with joy. The man told me "God will see us through". He will for sure.

Flooded streetsDearest brothers and sisters,

Thanks to all of you who have sent money our way. We will continue our action in the Church and in the community. We appreciate your Christian sacrifice to help your brothers and sisters in need in Gonaives, Haiti. May God repay you for that.

We are continuing to visit the people in their homes. I have to tell you that we find very few people in the actual house. Some left the city for a different part of the country that they hope is safe. Others stayed in the city but took refuge in the house of someone who has a second floor. Still others just used a tarp and made a shelter on their roof top and stayed there. But the people in the last category still live in fear because any rain means misery on top of what they are experiencing. During our visit we found 8 houses that are damaged. We define damage as a house that lost a wall, a door, or part of a roof. We also found 5 houses that are completely destroyed. I am referring to people who belong to Living Water Church. There are other cases of destruction and damage, but the house did not belong to them. They rented it. I am not considering those cases. We pray that we will have sufficient funds to repair some homes and rebuild others.

Flood debrisDear brothers and sisters,

Our hope is that all of you are doing well as individuals, family and as a Church. We thank all of you for your thoughtful e-mails. They do wonders. They are a great source of encouragement to keep going. We dare not get discouraged. We must face the situation head on. We dare not say, like many people, there is no end or no solution to this. Yet we feel the hits and the heat. We wonder a lot of time too like anyone else. But we know we cannot move the mountain, so it is a waste of time to keep looking at it. So we are fixing our eyes on the on "the mountain mover". We beg for your prayers.
