Dear brothers and sisters, Greetings to all of you in the name of Our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. We had a nice day yesterday. Today we have another nice one. It is even sunny. This brightens our faces. We can smile. We can laugh again. The majority of the people have already left the city. Some went to Port-au-Prince, others went to Saint-Marc or Cap Haitian or a number of villages. Some vow that they will never set foot in this city again. Others confidently say they will start all over again. Others, with tears and broken hearts, do not know what they will do. They are watching the course of events. |

(Update: As of 9/7/08 Hurricane Ike is dumping more rain on Gonaives) Dear brothers and sisters, We praise God the Creator, He who made everything, for giving you to us as brothers and sisters. We thank Him for your concerns and your fervent prayers. We thank Him for your love and kindness. We thank Him because of who He is: a loving, merciful, caring and just God. It is in the name of the Most Powerful God that I greet you all. Last Sunday people were worshiping God with all their hearts, raising their hands and praising God. Hundreds and thousands were doing the same thing around the city. Now they do not know when they will have the privilege to have another corporate worship again. It may takes months. It will take at least weeks. In a situation like this man must acknowledge who is in charge, who is in control. If not they realize, at least, how fragile life is. |

(BBC video of flood and report from UN) (Update below on flood, received from Salonique September 3, 2008) Dear brothers and sisters, We praise God because that we are alive. On this note, I greet you in the name of Our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Where should I begin? I really do not know. There are so many things to report, the devastation is so much that we do not have enough words to describe it. |

(The following tragic news was received September 3, 2008) I received a call from Salonique.
The flood is worse than it was three years ago and it is still raining. Bill Fudge and a companion of his from Cincinnati, OH is there with Salonique's family--safe--up on the second story of their house. Hurricane Hanna came over Haiti and deposited unbelievable amounts of water. Salonique says he can't believe this. He had never seen anything like these two floods in his lifetime. Thousands will loose their lives again. The water is deeper than before. He described it as up to the roof tops. Dear brethren, pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
You can send help to Northeast Evangelism, 900 South Clark St., Moberly, MO 65270. We'll keep you posted.

Dear brothers and sisters, Greetings to you all in His name! I thank my God for all of you who are praying for us as Hurricane Gustav is hitting Haiti. Please continue to pray so that it might lose its strength and that normal weather returns. We had rain last night. We still have rain at the present. I hope that it stops as the afternoon hours are approaching. We already have five people dead and 7 injuried. |
