Living Water News
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
Since the earthquake I have not talked much about the church and how it is doing. Our two services are doing well. People still prefer the first service over the second because they just like to worship very early. We have had Sundays where the sanctuary could not hold everyone who came to the first service. The lowest attendance we have had lately was 612.
Last Sunday we had 676 and we have people who were convinced that we had more than that. I preached the third part of a series on “The Extravagant Love of God for Israel” and consequently for us. The message was about God’s statement, “I am the Lord, Your God” from Isaiah 43:3. I cherish the whole text — particularly verses 10-13. Take a look at those first 13 verses of Isaiah. The Lord maybe telling you something there.
The experience of our ministers lately is that they feel overloaded — and they are. The same guys who work at the church also work at the school with children who are facing giant spiritual challenges. Those guys work tirelessly: Louis Jean Gilles, Monexant Francois, and Jackson Jean Philippe. They are respectively Intercession minister, evangelism minister and children minister. A lot of the time they don’t leave campus before 6 PM. We are talking about at least ten hours of work every day. Pray for them. We are getting a new man on board to have more people to carry the load. The load on these guys is certainly heavy. Please pray for them. The man we are bringing on board is Casseus Joseph. He is a student at our Bible College and has the heart for ministry. Pray for him as well. The church in Marmelade is getting ready to celebrate their first anniversary the week after Resurrection Sunday, Sunday April 11th. Pray for the event. They will have a week long revival begining Sunday night, April 4th.We thank God for everyone who gives to Living Water to make the institution go forward. Thanks to those who give to the general fund of the ministry. Thanks to those who sponsor a child. Thanks to those who give toward the school in general. We thank the leadership of Merril Lynch in Jacksonville, FL who graciously and generously contribute to make the education of Haitian children at Living Water possible. People like that are the ones who are setting the stage to impact the Haiti of tomorrow.
Thanks to those who give toward the rebuilding of the wall. We are please to report that the wall is roughly 70% completed. True, it is taking us way more time this time than before, but every foot of wall laid is progress. We started last December and we will continue until we are finished building all of it. We pray that we will be able to complete the rebuilding of the wall in April. When we did it before, it took us 6 weeks.Attached with this news are 5 pictures. The first two are about the church: the first service and the junior choir performing in both services. Those teenagers know how to praise the Lord and they enjoy it very much.
The third picture is about the distribution of books to the student victims of the earthquake. This picture was taken, I think, two weeks ago. We have had several parents who expressed their gratitude for their kids going to a good school in a safe environment. And on top of that, they don’t have to worry about school supplies and the like, plus their kids enjoy one hot meal a day. We praise God for that, but we would not be able to do any of this without your generous donations. Thanks to you who give and who pray.
The last two pictures are about the wall. We had a picture a while back about the northern wall. Now these are about the southern end of it. Pray that the Lord will continue to provide so we can complete the whole thing. We are planning to have our Resurrection Sunday service on the church property in the open air. We want to start at 5 AM. That way we can finish before the sun gets too hot.
We beg for your prayers.
Yours and His,
Salonique Adolphe and team
