Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you all in HIS name!

There are a lot of things to share with you. But before I say anything I want to thank all of you who have made my wife’s trip so memorable for her. My gratitude goes, of course, to mom and dad Green. From the moment they met her at the airport to her return, you took great care of her. Thanks to our beloved sisters, particularly Priscilla and Regina, to

our dear friends Fran Burton and Janet Farmer, Ray Ivy and family, the great folks of Illinois, Val and Jeff, John and Bonnie, our beloved brother Terry and the congregation where he is preaching, to the brothers and sisters of Indiana, Cal and Angie, Jim (Papa Noel) and Darlene, Jean Parker, the list goes on. Thanks also to our beloved Drs. Celeste and Matt Hardee and our beloved nurse Anna (Moberly). These people have taken very good care of my wife. Praise God for you all. She misses all of you. You made the trip successful and enjoyable. May God bless you all for our sake!

When we dropped those girls off at the airport, we picked up Brother Warren Ashley. He is from Cincinnati. We met while I was going to CCU. We became good friends; he came to teach Pastoral Counseling. He did an excellent job. The heat did not have mercy on brother Ahsley, but he survived. We wholeheartedly thank bro. Ashley for making the sacrifice of coming to teach our students. They were all grateful.

Work on the cafeteria continues, as you can see from the picture. I believe by next week the framing for the roof will be completed. We will go as far as the funds will allow us.

The people violently took to the streets in April to protest against food price. However now food prices are up by at least 15% which is intolerably high. Some of the produce which was 4 USD in April is now 5.50 USD. It is unfortunate that I have to report to you that the hunger is getting worse. But, that is the truth and the reality. Begging increases. More and more people are looking on the outside for refuge. The number one problem of the people is FOOD. Please pray and help us as the Lord blesses. School will open in less than four weeks and parents do not know what to do in a situation like the present.

I am inviting you to participate in the RBK program. RBK stands for Rice and Beans for Kids. We will start the feeding program as soon as school opens. We will cook the food outside, like we have done in the past to help alleviate the children’s hunger.

I am asking you to help us with the funds to buy the food here. Buying it in the States would be OK, but it will take a long time before it arrives here. I know you would rather buy the rice and the beans yourselves, but for the sake of time and transportation, please send the money instead. I am asking Bible College students, Churches, Sunday school classes, men’s groups, retirement homes, families and individuals to set up buckets in strategic places so that people may help with their pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars, ten, twenties or hundreds toward this program. We need to provide a hot meal for our students, and if we have sufficient funds, also to other kids living nearby. Please, please make RBK a success. Promote this program to your friends and to anybody you know who has a heart for kids. We need to satisfy their physical hunger first, and then we can teach them about the Christ who sets captive free and satisfies their spiritual hunger.

Remember, you can also sponsor a child at Living Water school with 30 dollars a month for elementary and 50 for junior high and high school.

Tomorrow, August 10, we will ordain into ministry 6 brothers at Living Water Christian Church: four deacons and two elders. Please pray for these brothers. We had a training seminar yesterday and we met this morning for two hours to pray with them, and for them. Tomorrow will be the ordination. We anticipate a great day tomorrow morning. I pray the same for you all.

With much love,

Salonique Adolphe
