Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to all of you in the name of JESUS!
Contrary to my previous articles this year, I am writing this one from my other home in Moberly Missouri. I pray that this posting finds all of you doing well in the Lord JESUS. I hope that all of you had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, the greatest Sunday of the year.
All of our hope to be in heaven with JESUS finds its reality in the resurrection. Our victory over Satan finds its explanation, not only in the death of Jesus on the cross, but also in the resurrection. So if Satan can manage to make some people question the historicity of the resurrection, he will not hesitate. A Christian is not a Christian if he/she does not believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus. Yes, He arose!
The Passion Week was full at Living Water. This year brother Monexant and his team chose the theme “Retell me the Story.” Each night, after a time of praise and prayer, we had a preacher of the Word who brought the message. The goal was to focus on the stories and events of that specific day that one is preaching from Sunday to Friday. We did not have any service on Saturday night because we were making all the necessary arrangements for Sunday morning. We planned to have one service outside instead of two services as usual. That was what we did.
It was roughly 6:15 A.M. when we started the service. All the focus was on Jesus and the resurrection. Brother Christian Jean Baptiste led the service and was assisted by Nadine, Tamar, Bea, Murielle and our musicians namely Habacuc, Gerard, Jude and Wilny. It was a solemn celebration, a Spirit-filled one.
We did miss the choir this year. Contrary to the previous Resurrection Sunday, the choir did not sing this year due to an accident with the choir director. We praise God with him and his family because he is doing amazingly well and will go back to work pretty soon. Our JESUS is the healer. He has healed brother Aldrean. So praises, prayers, meditations for offering and Lord Supper, the children choir, and the preaching of the Word, all were directed toward JESUS, in the name of Jesus. The first three pictures will give you a slim idea of what it was like.
Another great event of rejoicing was the third anniversary of the church in Marmelade. Wow! It was exceptional. People did not spare themselves while praising Jesus for three years of ministry in the community. People brought fruit and vegetables as their way to express their gratitude to JESUS for what He has done for them during those years. People have left darkness to come to the light. People have been growing more roots, stronger and longer roots in Christ. People have learned to give themselves to the service of Christ during those years.
We started off with hymns celebrating Jesus. We spent time in prayer. We had a time for what I called wild or crazy worship of Jesus — close to David dancing before the ark. Several choirs sang during the event and featured the choir of the school children. I enjoyed listening to them. We had several meditations, formal speechs, preaching of the gospel, then we closed with sharing a meal with the people who were present. We were short of having enough food for everyone.
The service started at 9 AM and was finished around 2 PM. We wish you could have joined Jodie Stoessel from Iowa and us during the event. She enjoyed her time in the service with us. We were blessed to have her. You can join us next year for the event, it is the first Sunday of April of every year. We can do a lot of things with our time and our lives, but what counts is what we do for JESUS!
I know it is a little late, but I hope you had a Happy Easter. He is alive! Let’s worship Him, for He is the only One who deserves our worship. His name is JESUS!
In Christ,
Salonique and team
