Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to all of you in Jesus’ name! Our prayer is that you all had a wonderful 4th of July yesterday with a spirit of gratitude to the men who have risked their freedom, their lives so that you can enjoy today living in the land of the free and the land of the braves. We do need some braves in the good side these days.
This past month our campuses and our home have been trodden by some beautiful feet. To be exact we had over 30 of them. They came from different part of the US. They had different appreciations of the weather and the culture, but they had the same goal: serving Jesus.
In their service some preached. That was the case of Justin DeVries, Ken Boatright, Dr. David Barbe, and Bob Bacon. Others saw patients. Our beloved Doctors Barbe, Hobbs and Burk and other missionaries in the medical field like our dear nurse Debbie Barbe, and other people with special expertise in eye care such as Elizama, Ashley, and Debra, plus the support of other team members like Brenda, Michael, Lea, Madison and Bob. Others fixed our electrical problems. The joint team Avon-Cincinnati did a wonderful job. Now we have no problems with electricity in our sanctuary, in many offices and classrooms. The Avon crew painted the sanctuary as well. That team included Alan, Ken Sr, Randy, Karen, David, Isaiah, Zach, Emma, Jeremy, Lisa, Meridith and Olivia. Other work was done in carpentry, plumbing, gardening, construction, vehicle repair and teaching. Ms. Tana Allen taught English from 1st thru 6th grade.
Another thing the teams had in common is that they all left us in better shape. They all left us in a forward motion. Some people here increased their faith through the teaching and preaching of those teams. Others came closer to the light because they were in need of a service offered by those teams, like the medical teams. We, the people of Living Water, are left with better tools, a better situation and more materials to do a better job.So directly or indirectly those people spread the gospel. Paul wrote: “How can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15). Thus it is not the daily care they give their feet that makes them beautiful, nor their footwear, but the beauty and the life changing message: The Good News they bring.
When will you be part of one of those teams? When will you start putting a team together? When will you return? May God continue to invade the world with the beautiful feet of long and short term missionaries till He comes back. May God shower His blessings on each and every one of you who has come to us.
In Christ,
Salonique and team
