Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you all in HIS name! Being a Christian is the best thing there is. I have heard several stories of people who crumbled after the string of hurricanes hit the city. All the stories that I have heard have one basic message: “There is no hope of help coming from anywhere and all have left the city.” Consequently after a period of depression the heart loses hope. It is the story of business people who are not Christian or the story of professional people who are not Christian. It is the story of the ordinary man who did not have much to live on before the storms and now the hurricanes claimed even the little they had. So life is not worth living for these people.

I faced a similar situation four years ago when Hurricane Jeanne hit my city. Brother Micah and I and the rest of the team of Living Water were badly shaken up. But a few days later when e-mails began coming to us we were strengthened by our brothers and sisters’s words of encouragement and by the generous gifts they sent our way. We learned then what it means to have brothers and sisters. We learned then that we are not alone. We learn then that God has hands, feet, purse, pockets, checkbooks. We learn then that life could start over again from dry bones.

This year the hurricanes created way more devastation, unbelievable devastation. However the love of our sisters and brothers is without limits. We can smile again, and we should smile. We can dream, and we should dream. We can voice our vision for the future of this city and we should. Our hope and joy is only because we have an All Knowing God and All Powerful God. Our joy is because we have brothers from all over the world who care, and who want to see HIM known in a dark country, in a dark city: Gonaives.

Thanks to all of you for your gracious and generous gifts. Thanks to all of you for sending us so many encouraging thoughts. Thanks to all those who shared Scripture verses with us. They fuel us. They energize us. They keep us going. I love you all.

Living Water families are doing well as a whole. As for the Adolphes: My wife hurt her right knee again last night. She is having a terrible morning. The best thing for her would have been to lay down. But she has a hard time doing things like that because she is always thinking of the needs of her children, her husband and others. Please pray for her. The boys are doing much better. Tim took a little time to get back on his feet, but now he is OK. Oriente, Samuel, Elie and Bea are all doing well.

The distribution of food and the cleaning continues. Monexant, Murielle and Oslet went to the Market at L’Estere for more rice and beans. Moses is in Port-au-Prince on personal business, but will make use of the occasion to bring Spaghetti for us to distribute. Life is coming back to the dry bones just because you are good brothers and good sisters.

My heartfelt thanks for all you do for us.

This message has several pictures of cleaning ane food distribution. The Lord will bring life back into the dry bones of Living Water and Gonaives.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in India. Many of them are under severe persecution right now. They need our prayers. Dad listens to the requests of his children on behalf of the other ones. I know that, so do you.

Yours because He lives,

Salonique Adolphe
