Dear Teammates,
Greetings to all of you in the name of Jesus!
Last night we had a great time with several of our family members and friends celebrating the 15th birthday of my son Ben. I remember my friend Patrick Yager and I were headed to Milton, IA the Sunday he was born. Now he is a gentleman, a bookworm and a timid thinker who offers all the reasons for his parents to be proud. Praise be to God for that.
Of course we need to remember it is May 1st today. God has blessed us beyond words this past month. We had three visiting teams made up of friends and supporters of Living Water. The first was a medical team. Again yesterday the name of Dr. Kurt came up in a conversation. The person was praising God for the gift He has given to Dr. Kurt to deal with some of the most complicated situations. It seems to help to be an emergency room doctor in many situations. Dr. Kurt had four other wonderful nurses who kept him in line and moving to see over 200 patients in just a few days. Dr. Dan feels blessed to have the help of many older and experienced colleagues. We also received a visit of my friend from College: Scott Yates, with his wife and family. They all seemed to have had a blast. Isaac, their 11 year old son enjoyed every second of the trip, except for the fact they woke him up too early every morning. During the trip they visited the two children they sponsored and Isaac was showing a new game to Jamesly, his brother from another mother. Our third team was from Onward Church in Indianapolis. The team was Scott, Miles and Brad. Brad and I went to seminary at Cincinnati (CBS, now CCU). I have had the blessings to be in his home on multiple occasions. His wife Keri and all the kids always make me feel that I am family. Brother Gary Stump sent this team to see Living Water. The trip was not long enough to visit our White Mountain and Marmelade locations. Brad preached three sermons, taught a two-day seminar on Evangelism (T4T). Scott was exploring ways to do business as mission. Brother Miles focused on construction projects and how he can integrate Living Water more in the near future. It is a huge blessing just to listen to Miles prospective on things. It is fun to be around visionaries.
Praise God for the wonderful progress on the Church construction. We have spent another month working non-stop. Praise be to God.
Praise God for the wonderful progress on the radio station. After going back and forth to Port-au-Prince three times in less than a week, we will finally sign the papers for the station shortly, Now is the time to raise the much needed funds for construction and equipment. We will need between 80 and 100 thousands dollars for construction and equipment. The estimate we had four years ago is now obsolete. The guy who is helping us with the technical side of the project is now reviewing everything.
Praise be to God for for having blessed us with six years of faithful proclamation of the gospel in Marmelade and the progress of the elementary school there. Pray for Jude who is in Marmelade now working on the construction of two additional classrooms that brother J. Mitchel financed.
Pray for the progress on the Fred Green Elementary School. You remember we had all the problems of the world to find a company to excavate for us. Well now, in spite of the fact that we bought land from the same person all of our neighbors bought from, and several court decisions confirm that we bought from the right owner, now they are using violence and even threatening my life to see if they can stop us. Brother Tim Crockett knew the enemy was not going to give up when he predicted that more challenges are ahead. Thanks be to our God, who is the remover of obstacles, we will triumph again.Pray for the trip to the USA of Jeana Clocksin and me tomorrow.
Blessings to you all.
In Christ,
Salonique Adolphe and team
