Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of the Lord!
My son Marc (Salgini) will turn 17 in two weeks. Through him I learned early on that one of the concepts that is very hard to teach people is “patience”. Or, putting in a different way, “wait.” And the truth remains, “The apple does not fall far from the tree.” I like getting things done quickly. But it is in our best interest to move at His speed. The truth again remains that we don’t like to wait. However the Bible teaches us to wait. God promises to bless those who wait. Haven’t we read in Isaiah 30:18, “Blessed are all who wait for Him”?
Many of us wait because we don’t have a second choice. We have the hardest time to be still when the battle gets tough. We want it to be over, or we want to speed things up. Remember also that He said, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalms 46:10). Our enemies don’t have any advantage over us if we wait for the Lord. Pharaoh found that out. Before he found it out Moses had to remind the Israelites, “The Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still.” (Exodus 14:14). Only!!! For many of us independent minded-let-me-do-it-my-way people, hearing “only be still” is asking too much. Yet blessed are all who wait for Him. Last year we received a visit from Brother J. Mitchell. He pledged to help us build a couple classrooms in Marmelade among other things. He sent the funds. Would you believe that, in spite of having the funds to build the two classrooms, it is taking us way longer than we thought. We had one problem after another. Last week Jude was going to send one of his men to help the construction move at a faster pace. The day before he went he broke his thumb. So nothing was done. Then Jude decided to go himself. On his way a pipe carrying fluid to the engine of his car busted. I had my share of hurdles in my efforts to get this building to move. In all these things we need to be reminded we have an enemy, but he is not bigger than our God. We just need to wait for the best timing of our Father to move forward while praying and doing our part. Since we started the school 12 years ago we have had the plan for a Kindergarten. Finally the Lord is showing us multiple signs that this is the time. Proof? A group of valiant workers from Cincinnati came after raising more than 17,000 USD toward the building to get it moving. They are making a difference in the Haitian families.
Some people come to Christ after hearing about him the first time. Others have been coming to church for years without committing themselves to Him. At the right time they will surrender. Always remember to continue to pray for those kinds of people.
God is moving with the farm project. I am amazed every day as I see what He can do with this piece of property. After years of waiting for a church building, now God is moving things very fast. This is His time!I don’t know about you but I have experienced times when the Lord moves way faster than my feeble legs can move. Yet in those days he also made provision for me to keep going.
My friends I thank you. I am indebted to all of you who pray for me and who find many ways to encourage me. God bless you. I thank all of you who contribute financially to God’s cause here at Living Water. Keep in mind, “Blessed are those who wait for the Lord.”
Remember to pray for the construction of the Fred Green Elementary and High School at White Mountain.
In Christ,
Salonique Adolphe and team
