Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Dear brothers and sisters,
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in Jesus’ name!
Most of us are running left and right with the fastest speed possible, so it is wonderful to have a day or a season set aside for Thanksgiving! The Psalmist wrote in Psalms 95:2: “Let us come before HIM with thanksgiving.” In Psalms 107 we read, “Give thanks to the Lord for He is Good, His love endures forever.”
Really, based on what God has done for us, we should willfully choose every day as a day of thanksgiving. There is no way we could list all of the things that God has done for us, neither in the spiritual realm nor in the physical realm, neither the temporal blessings nor the eternal blessings. That does not mean we should not name a few of our reasons to give thanks. We just need to bear in mind we can not have a complete list.
The Lord is sovereign. He does what He does without needing to giving the reason why He does things the way He does them. We should all acknowledge our humanness and bow before our Maker for His decisions. I thank God for sending Jesus to die for me on the cruel cross. I thank God for preachers and missionaries and every person He has put in my life to bring me to where I am today. I thank God for salvation; for forgiveness of sins; for the Bible, and for being my Shepherd.
I thank God for my family: my wife and my children. I cannot imagine one day of my life without them. I thank God for keeping them safe; for their health and the investments He has made in them. I thank God for all my friends: Haitians, Americans, Mexicans, Africans, Asians, New Zealander/Australian, and the list goes on. I thank God for all the supporters of Living Water Christian Mission. Without them we would not be able to do what we are doing for both the Kingdom of God and for Haiti. I thank God for His provisions.I thank God for Christian parents and in-laws.
I thank God for Living Water facilities; for our Haitian leadership; for the American brothers and sisters who make up the Board of Directors, those selfless women and men who work tirelessly without pay. I thank God for Brian, for Bonnie, for Doug, for Ken and for YOU! I thank God for all our supporting churches; for the teachers of the Bible College and for all the teams who come to visit Living Water every year.
Working in Haiti comes with special challenges. I thank My God, Our God, for protecting the students of Living Water, the schools, the vocational school, the Bible College and for the protection of our workers and members of our churches. I thank God for the progress He has orchestrated at Living Water.
I have special thanks to God for sending IAMM to Haiti when He did, using an unfortunate circumstance. Again, He is sovereign! I thank God for the fact that IAMM has gone through the toils of bringing Kerns (The elementary student on the right, third photo) to undergo surgery in the USA It is an attempt to bring a permanent solution to Kerns tumor, which is bothering him to say the least. May God bless Sandy, Dr. Mike and all the members of IAMM for doing that.
I also thank God for “On His Path” and for what they have been able to do in Haiti and at Living Water. I thank God for IDES, for their work, not just at Living Water, but throughout Haiti and all over the world. May Our good Lord bless them.
You see my list is long, and actually it should have been longer. Let me say, I thank my God for all His bountiful blessings.
Let me remind you that I am now in Ohio and will be here till I return home. I also want to remind you that we are moving into our new church building on December 20th. Please pray for the preparations and please, please pray for funds for chairs to fill up the building.
May the Lord bless you as you are enjoying family and friends.
In Christ,
Salonique Adolphe and team
