It’s Harvest Time!
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to all of you in the name ofJesus!
In more than two thousand (2000) years of gospel proclamation, there is one thing that doesn’t change: The fields remain white. Harvesters come, harvesters go. Yet there is still the need for more workers in His harvest fields. And frankly, the job doesn’t seem to be less burdensome. As the time for the return of Jesus grows closer and closer, it may even be more burdensome. So, there is a big need to recruit more Kingdom workers. There is a big need to encourage more and more people to engage in Kingdom work.
At Living Water we are mindful of the fact that the fields are white. We praise God for the fact that every Sunday more and more people who have not met Jesus yet are coming to church. They are searching. They are growing and getting ready to be harvested. We just need to be vigilant harvesters so the harvest does not go wasted. That would be devastating!
I have said to people that the school (elementary and high school) is our fishing pond. It is also a place to influence people into choosing to be harvesters. Lately the school’s administration has decided to let the students lead the morning devotion at the school. They started with 13th grade down to the kindergarten. I was not able to attend them all, but I was surely blessed to attend a few of them. They all did an excellent job, specially the elementary school students. They were phenomenal. You would be blessed if you were able to attend one of them. I was happily surprised by the quality of presentation of even the kindergarten students.
One of the best avenues that God has used to train Kingdom workers at Living Water is the Bible College. Every semester new students are arriving. We are still small, but we are consistently putting godly and better preachers in the pews. They serve in churches in our city and in neighboring towns and villages. They are engaged in bringing in the crops in many parts of the country. Our latest blessing is that the government has finally accredited our school. We have just received the piece of paper saying we can continue to do our job to train people for “religious service.” This is a big deal here. In many cases students won’t come to a school if they are not sure that their diploma will be recognized or accepted by the government. We praise God for that.
We continue to have well qualified teachers who are coming from the States to help us in training those harvesters. The most recent ones we have had are Dusty Delafield from Miamitown, OH and Jamie Franke, from Vandalia Missouri who is also a professor at Central Christian College of the Bible. I thank and praise God for these wonderful men.
In our new church building we have enjoyed more freedom in worship. This building is a blessing. We have already harvested a number of souls in it. We continue to influence both young and older people to be engaged in the harvest through the church.
We thank all of our friends and churches, particularly Timberlake Christian Church, and all of the people who were involved in getting the bus to us. We have received a bunch of wonderful stuff for the clinic, the schools and the churches. These tools make our work easier as we are recruiting harvesters and as we are harvesting for Jesus.
When IAMM was here early this month we had the privilege to serve in the neighboring village of Highland. Hundreds of people got the privilege to be seen by top quality doctors. The people were very satisfied. They wanted more days. But we needed to serve in Gonaives too.
We now have two young missionaries who live in Gonaives: Molly and Alex. They went to Highland with a missions team and some of the members of our staff. They served the people in the village by distributing solar lamps. Oh, the people were and are still happy for receiving such an important gift. These harvesters are paving the way for a wonderful harvest soon. Please continue to pray for our two church planting projects that we have this year. God is working in amazing ways thru the circumstances and thru setting apart harvesters for each field.
I explained our need for a generator to many people. I had to borrow some funds to buy one much smaller (8kw for 7500 USD) than we wanted. We could not come up with the $20,000 for the one we really wanted (50 Kw). We bought the smaller one knowing that we will be able to use it in the other church plants. We know God will provide the one we need for our church, clinic and in the future radio station campus. All these efforts have one goal: engaging more in the harvest.
My friends, it is harvest time! So pray for the Master to send more workers into His harvest fields.
Pray that the Lord break the chain that still holds us up at White Mountain. The church there is booming in spite of the efforts of the enemy.
Pray for the radio station. We still need the licence.
Pray for the project of launching (in the next few years) “Caribbean Christian University.” Pray for the whole process. Pray that all the workers, present and future will be harvesters.
Last year we had no rain basically all over Haiti. Consequently we did not have much of a harvest on our vegetable farm. In fact, we cannot even call it a harvest. This year we need rain so we can enjoy a bountiful harvest. But for the spiritual harvest, what we need the most is harvesters, because “It’s harvest time.”
