Arrival of the Basic Utility Vehicle

The BUV is here at last

Dearest friends,

Greetings to you all in the name of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

First I want to thank Our Great God for providing a Basic Utility Vehicle (BUV) to us. I also want to thank all of you who have been part of the plan for us to have a BUV.

Thanks to brother and friend Brad Pointer. He has taken the initiative with his friends and brothers who are part of “Iron men”. These godly men have set aside their money and purchased the BUV from our beloved brother’s company, brother Will Austin. I had the privilege of meeting brother Austin last year in Cincinnati. That was my first look at a BUV.

My thanks also to brother Will who provided 200 USD to brother Valery so he could buy some rice (five 55 pound bags) and some bottles of cooking oil. Brother Valery rebagged the rice into 42 small black bags. We distributed the rice today but we left the oil to use in our daily feeding of our workers. We appreciate the generosity of brother Will.

I want to thank Dr. Painter for willingly enduring the hardship of getting the BUV here. I pray that the other deliveries to missionaries will be easier for him.

I want to thank all those who have prayed so that we may have the BUV. God has answered your prayers. Thanks to brother Valery and his team who have transported the BUV to us all the way to Gonaives.

I must confess that some times I was not too confident about getting the BUV here. Sometime I lost faith. Sometimes I didn’t know exactly where my BUV was. Was it in Port-au-Prince or Gonaives? When am I going to receive it? Will it be this weekend or next weekend or when? It should be a relief for all of us. Relief for my friend Brad and the other brothers who purchased it. Relief for Will. Relief for Dr. Painter. Relief for Valery and relief for those of us at Living Water.

The BUV will be used in various capacities. It will transport building material, farm produce and people. We will use it as soon as the roads are clean on a daily basis while we are rebuilding. Pray that its service will last many, many years.
