When God’s people Unite

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Many people have written to me. I read them all. I draw my strength for the e-mails on different levels. Just knowing that there are many people who care and would love to be here with us for clean up and rebuilding encourage us to do what seems impossible for us to do. Reading e-mails from College students who want to come to help; from preachers who are willing to leave the pulpit for a few days to help and from professionals of all sorts who express the same desire are very uplifting. Thanks to you all.

I am also encouraged when I read about a brother or a sister who sacrificed themselves to send us some money. In a time when the world economy is not good people tend to be self conscious about their spending. Fewer and fewer people are willing to give.

I praise God for those of you with a heart filled with love and generosity who give so that we may feed the hungry as we do almost daily. We not only send food to those we know need it the most, but we also cook for all those who come to help. Whether a lot of help or a little help we feed those who show up for the food.

We also meet various needs of the people. Some needs they express themselves and some we see ourselves. Lately we have cared for needs like food and medical problems. Soon we want to also supply clothing and shoes. This will require a fairly good amount of money. We need prayer and we need generous people to give.

Praising GodYou may be happily surprised to hear that we had over 240 people in attendance yesterday. We had brother Jean Rubin as the song leader. Abel taught Sunday school and again I preached. We had a lively worship — a Spirit-filled worship. All because God’s people united. You have united to provide for the most dire needs now. This in turn makes a cement to strengthen our bond. We united to clean; to worship and to help each other. We united to help even those who are outside of our Christian community. When God’s people unite our witness increases.

We united today to clean the porch of the first school building. We could not finish the task becaues it was so huge but we completed two thirds of it. We removed the mud from the storage rooms. We also unearth some blocks (800 in total) from the Church property. The blocks were from the wall that the flood destroyed. We moved them to the school building. We will use them to lay block in the future for the second story of the second school building. This work will continue tomorrow.

Salvaging concrete blocks from the school campus wallI have a lot of pictures that I could share with you, but I will only show four here. Enjoy! If you ever need more just let me know.

In Christ,

Salonique Adolphe
