Terrible days
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ!
I really do not have the right words to express my feeling about what is going on in Haiti. Yesterday the president of Haiti, Jovenel Moise, was assassinated in his own home. He received many bullets. Some said as many as 12 shots. Several of his body parts were desecrated. He was the object of all this because he was serving his country. It is evident that he made lots of enemies in the process. Really, after a whole day of thinking about this, I still do not have the right composure to talk about it. So pray for us. Pray for Haiti.
I don’t know what is going to take place. With the announcement by the leadership of the country, those who live on a day to day basis will face big hurdles to survive. They have just declared a state of emergency which limits people’s movement.
This year has brought me one trouble after another. Please pray for me to win in court against about 20 teachers who are claiming that they were fired when they were not under a contract. They could have been, but they did not sign the contract while they were bullying me at the same time. I told them in a letter, any refusal to sign the contract means that I will replace them with others, which I did. The litigation has been going on since November. During the last four weeks it has intensified.
We aim to have a month of camp for the children. We will feed them, teach them and entertain them like we have in the past. Our brothers and sisters at Mountain Grove (MO) made this possible. We welcome your financial contribution as we want to extend this in all of our four churches.
On a positive note, great progress is being made on the orphanage building. Praise God! We also need you to contribute to complete this big project.
May God bless you all for our sake.
In Christ,
Salonique and team
