When God Says: Move!
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ!
I have been saying to myself during the last few years, Haiti’s situation cannot be worse. I find out later that I was wrong. Consequently, I have stopped saying that. It is an unfortunate situation. The situation becomes more and more complicated when the leadership of the country does not care and is part of the problem.
This week there has been a lot more killings and kidnappings. In the area of Croix-des-Bouquets people are leaving their homes and taking refuge in other areas that they judge safer. Martissant continues to be a no-go-zone. Going through there is synonymous to suicide. The gang members there do as they please. The war between some of the gangs, as of lately, has resulted in many more deaths, even death through burning. It is a disheartening and repulsive situation resulting from having irresponsible and selfish people in power.
In this present reality of Haiti, many understandably choose to flee instead of fight. Others choose to hibernate, hoping to get out when the situation is better. There are also those who choose to continue to serve the people daily knowing that God will protect them and provide what they will need for their personal needs and the needs of their ministries.
Living Water Christian Mission is among those who have made the choice to continue to serve God through serving HIS people. The churches, the schools, the health clinic, and the radio station continue to give their service every day to the population. People continue to surrender their lives to Jesus through baptism. Ten were baptized last week. The ministry in Marmelade has just celebrated its 13th anniversary with a full house and there were as many people outside as there were inside. We had a spirit-filled worship on Resurrection Sunday with an excellent performance of the children’s choir and the Church choir. Highland had a few people baptized a couple weeks ago and they have had, it seems like, a wedding every week. It is amazing to see what God is doing even in the grimmest of situations.
It is illogical to launch new ministries, currently, in Haiti. However, when God says: “Move!” We had better move, for we would have nothing to fear. The only thing that we should fear when God says: “move” is the fear of disobedience. The Pharaohs of life cannot prevent you from moving. The red seas cannot be laid before you as obstacles. God will use your red seas to bury the Pharaohs who want to stop you from moving. Knowing and believing that, please team up with us to launch this coming September the Fred Joseph Green Elementary and High School.
We will launch with 1st thru 4th grade and 7th grade. We already have the blessing of the city and the Ministry of National Education already knows that we will open this Fall. We need additional funds to continue with the building of the school and to prepare and equip the classes for 2022 thru 2023 academic year.
We will also launch Caribbean Christian University. We are about to launch the construction of two or three classrooms added to those we already have available on the school campus. We will start with the School of Educational Science and the School of Administrative Sciences. We will add the Seamstress School to the vocational school.
We are multiplying our efforts to start the Church at Marotte, special prayers are needed. We will launch in late Summer or early Fall the Orphanage as well. God did ask me to move. HE will provide everything that we need.
May God shower HIS blessings on you as you consider praying more for the leadership of Living Water Christian Mission and the people that it is serving. May God guide you as you consider giving so these efforts, which will eternally change lives in Haiti and beyond. May God be with you all.
In Him,
Salonique Adolphe and Team
