Let us Do it Together!
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
I have great joy in writing this letter to you. Seeing you face to face would bring me much more joy for sure, however it has to wait for the Lord’s timing.
For the past twenty years we have been engaging in transforming Haitians and Haiti through Jesus Christ. Some of you have been with us from the beginning and others have joined us at one point or another in our history. There are churches — many of them are small Churches — who have poured themselves into Living Water to positively impact hundreds of thousands of Haitians. Many — like mom and dad Green and John and Helen Meyer — have gone home since we started.
In the course of this time children have received a quality education from preschool to College, souls were won unto Christ through the preaching and the teaching of the gospel, people’s faith have been strengthened, people’s health have been restored through the health clinic and the mobile clinics of foreign missions teams and nationals. We have fed millions of meals in different regions of Haiti and built homes. We have done all of those things together. We have an unfinished job that we need to continue to work on, let us do it together!
This Fall, once again, several thousands of children will resume their school education through our four main schools in Gonaives, Marmelade, Highland, and White Mountain. Major works need to be done in all four locations.
We need to complete the construction of the Fred Joseph Green School (Institution Mixte Fred Joseph Green). Some parents hesitate to register their children because the walls of the school property have not been completed. We need to do it together.
In Highland (John & Helen Meyer School), the last bridge is under construction and major infrastructural works are being done to begin the new school year in a nicer facility with a computer lab and solar energy. We need funds to stucco the whole building and possibly paint the whole building. We need to do those things together.
We need additional and safer classrooms in Marmelade, especially for the little ones.
In Gonaives, major repairs need to take place.
We have roughly four weeks to do these things. Yes, four weeks! Classes will resume in September. There is a Haitian proverb, which says, “Men anpil, chay pa lou” rendered by “With many hands the work (or the load) is light.”
It is not possible for any of us to do these things alone. However, we can accomplish all of them together. For many of us, making a gift of ten dollars will be synonymous to “sacrificial giving.” For others, the sacrificial giving might be 20, 50, 100, or more. Would you please consider making a sacrificial gift this month of August to Living Water in order to continue the process of impacting the next generation of Haitians and Haiti for Christ? We can do this together. Let us do it together!
Please also remember the process of establishing Marotte Christian Church, the orphanage, and the Caribbean Christian University continue. With God on our side, the only thing that we would have to fear is His disobedience. So let us obey and trust Him, knowing that He will provide for HIS glory!
