First Day of Three of the Boys of the Orphanage

Heartfelt Gratitude

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to YOU in the name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus!

This week my heart is inundated with feelings of gratitude to all of you for what you have allowed the Lord to do through you during the last 22 years at and through Living Water. Thousands of people have come to the knowledge of the Christ who sets people free from the bondage of sin. Thousands of children have received a quality Christian education in our city and in several villages. Thousands of young people have received vocational training, through which they have been earning a living. Hundreds of young people have received a college education. It all began in 2006 with the Bible College. Thousands of people in town and in many villages have received medical care since we began doing that in 2009. You have also made it possible for hundreds of people to receive a paycheck, which allows them to take care of themselves and their families. We have been building different infrastructure in town as well as in villages for Churches and schools. We have served millions of meals throughout the country. We have built and rebuilt homes for people. You have made it possible for everyone of my siblings who were interested in education to have multiple degrees. You have done the same for me and my children. You have transformed for the best the lives of over a million people through education, evangelism, healthcare, feeding programs, and the list goes on.

How I would like to thank you by names. The list would include many people who have already been in heaven, some for as many as twenty years or more! How I would like to thank you by names, those of you who have visited Living Water, worked at Living Water, and worshipped with us during Sunday service. Yes, we are loud! Yes, we can repeat the same chorus many, many times – I remember one instance when one of my brothers counted how many times we have since the same chorus, and it was a lot! Yes, our services can be long for you, but you have enjoyed every minute with us. We miss that. We long to experience that with you again.

I want to thank you for being such caring partners for praying for my family, for the workers of Living Water, and for the people we serve. Thank you for your many prayers for Haiti. Thank you for the many ways that you have shown you care over the years. My mind is flooded with names and actions of so many of you on behalf of Living Water and myself. I could easily list the name of one hundred of you on the top of my head, but space does not allow me to do so. YOU are special to me! I want you to know that Thinking about YOU has brought much joy to me, especially this week, despite everything that is going wrong in my world, in our world. Thank you!

I plan to leave Haiti on October 24th; that is next week.

I invite you to observe that all the Sunday evenings are open, and I have only one settled appointment during the other days of the week. Please feel free to invite me to come to visit with you during a week that we are, at least, in a reachable distance to you. The size of the group of people is not important. Brother Ray Lyon (Blakesburg, IA) is also working on connecting with multiple Churches to follow my presentation while it will take place or after. I would like to visit with my brothers in Cedar Falls, IA and our other supporting Churches in IA or MO, one way or another.

The orphanage is in operation. We have six children, five boys and one girl. There are many other children who are waiting to be admitted, but we need to complete the cooking and the cleaning staff first. Schools are back in session. We praise God for that and thanks to all of you who support education in Haiti through Living Water.

Please pray for the victims of the floods, Haiti, and Living Water. Your prayers make the difference. May God bless you and yours!

In Christ!
