Happy New Year
Dear brothers and sisters,
I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year! I pray that 2025 is a wonderful year for you. I pray that God will pour over you both material and spiritual blessings.
The year 2024 has been arguably one of the most difficult years in our ministry. We faced a consistent shortage of funds to meet our payrolls. Evil people have made multiple attempts to destroy our radio station. They have, on multiple occasions, tried to assassinate some of us, including the caretaker of our church and clinic campus, to the point that he had to resign for safety purposes. Robbers have stolen stuff from our two primary campuses.
They even made a failed attempt to kill me less than one week after my return trip from the United States. They filled the city with the news of my death. Last year again, we had to go to Highland through the long path of mud and potholes. One of our workers fainted on one of those trips, which created a big scare as there was no easy way to transport her into the city. Terrible and repeated thunder and lightning, back in September, destroyed radio and church equipment, which are worth tens of thousands of dollars.
We could go on and on with the list of challenges that we faced. Yet, despite them all, God continues to bless us with safety in an unsafe environment. He has continued to show us mercy in a merciless context. He has continued to provide for the ministry to continue to spread the gospel of peace in a place of scarcity.
I was asked by Living Water teammates to name some of God’s blessings to us in 2024. The list is as follow:
+ The continued operation of Living Water
+ the success of my recent trips to the US
+ the establishment of the orphanage
+ the various victories over our enemies
+ the new baptized believers
+ the multiple food distributions from June through the end of the year
+ the feeding of school kids
+ the wild success of the kids Summer Camp
+ IAMM’s gift of a solar energy system serving the clinic, the church, and the radio station
+ the gift of twins to the Innocent family after several years of marriage
+ the ministry of the radio station
+ the safety of Living Water workers
+ the successful completion of the school year (2023-2024)
+ the rapid growth of the University
+ the payment of all salaries to date despite a tough year
+ the protection against an accident at the end of the year
+ the choice of a dynamic young preacher for Highland
+ resuming work on the construction of Marotte Church Building
+ the presence of solar electric power at the school and church at Highland
+ the gift of chairs for the university
+ God’s prompt intervention against my wife’s blood clot using Dr. Jeune and Dr. Wilsey
+ the success of all the home groups of the church
This list is by no means exhaustive. God’s blessings for Living Water are too numerous to count. We praise God for these miraculous blessings, and we thank our donors for their generosity. May God bless you all!
I want to thank Connection CC, The Bible study group with brother Lee, Forum Boulevard CC, Martelle CC, Cedar Falls CC, Madison Church of Christ, Blakesburg CC, Nebo CC (KY), IMMI (Westerfield, IN), New Beginning Church, Spring Hill Church of Christ, Fellowship Class of Whitewater Crossing CC and the Hasselbecks, and Bridgetown Church of Christ. I want to thank all those Churches for their generosity toward Living Water as a whole, and to me and my family, in particular. I was deeply moved by those who drove miles to come to see me, namely brother Gerald Browning, brother Allan and his wife Nancy Jones and brother Derald Ailes. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who made my visit a success. Thanks for feeding me, housing, transporting me from place to place, and thanks for making me part of your family. I want to thank Pam Croll and her family for welcoming me to their home for Thanksgiving. It was a fun and blessed time.
I want you all to know that while I was at Blakesburg Christian Church brother Ray Lyon and his family had me shoot several videos, which are fit either for communion or offering meditation. If you would like some of those videos to use in a Sunday service, please let me know or contact directly brother Ray Lyon at 641-799-7425. He will be glad to share them with you.
Please pray for:
+ the continuation of the construction of the church in Marotte (20,000 needed)
+ more classrooms for the university (75,000 needed it was 105,000)
+ the orphans and the orphanage
+ order and peace to return in Haiti
+ the continual safety of our workers
+ for healthy growth of our churches.
Happy New Year and God’s blessings to you all!
