We will conquer!
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord: Jesus!
I had the privilege to have been with some of you from the end of April to the third week of June this year. You have blessed me beyond words. I want to thank all of you for your kindness and your generosity. You are simply amazing people of God. I praise HIM because of you!
I want you to know that the batteries, for the radio station, that we purchased in December last year, and have been in Haiti since January, are finally at my house. Yes, we had to pay an arm and a leg, but I rejoice that we finally have them. Praise be to God! It is highly possible for the radio station to be back in the air this coming week. I just cannot wait!
I also want you to know that we are making some progress on building additional classrooms for the university. We need those classrooms because we are expecting to welcome about 200 new students this fall. We need to pour the concrete roof soon, but we are running out of funds, and we need to add three more on top of the current ones. Please, please join us in prayer so that we can be ready, and please consider giving toward the building of those classrooms. I want to thank the Reese’s family for making it possible for us to have made considerable progress on this building (Picture in the next email). May God bless the Reece family for their kindness and generosity.
I want to inform you that the churches are doing fine. White Mountain continues to grow at a speed that we need a new building soon. Highland is doing some amazing outreach in the community. The new preacher is doing his best to reach the youth. Marmelade children ministry is wonderful, although there are considerable challenges there. We really covet your prayer for the whole ministry there. The church here is doing well. We currently have a 30-day revival every night (Praise, prayers, and preaching) from July 20th through August 24th. They hold no service on Saturdays. The home groups also are doing an amazing job. Members of one of them raised some funds within the church members and they put what they have together, they went and fed 600 people at the jail in town two weeks ago. They cooked the food and made the plates and distributed them to the jailers. They had a blast doing it.
I am sure that you are wondering about the gangs. They continue to operate. They continue to increase their territories, the most recent town they completely take over is Dessalines. They continue to massacre the population. This time it comes nearer to us because in one of their most recent massacres they did it in a village near Highland, one of the 8 people who were killed is the father of two of the students at the school of John Helen Meyer of Highland. Last night (July 25/26), they invaded the town of “Jandeni” and burnt and destroyed homes. We rejoiced last week at the death of the leader of the gang, which is at the southern entrance of Gonaives. The saddest thing in all of that is that they are killing policemen instead of the other way around. The reason is that they are better equipped than our police officers.
As a ministry, we have been facing many challenges. With God, we know we will conquer. We thank each one of you for praying for us, for giving toward Living Water, and for encouraging others to pray and give to Living Water. God will continue to bless you for His glory!
In Him,
Salonique Adolphe and Team
