Looking Ahead with Hope
Dear brothers and sisters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
I am writing from the home of my friends Gardner and Angel in Caryville, Tennessee. I have been here since Monday afternoon. Yesterday I worked the whole day, but today I have had a restful day. I am grateful to God and thankful to them for making that time of rest and relaxation possible.
As I rest, I keep thinking about many of my friends and supporters who are facing challenging days. I am thinking about my friends Dr. Gary Curtis, Andrew Nicholson, Jesline Timot, the Roberts family, Julie Kriegle, Julia Garhold, Kathy Witsell, and Gardner Sorrell, among others. Every one of those friends and/or supporters is facing different issues: Cancer, various ailments, death in their family, and other situations which require divine intervention to solve them. Please pray for those people and for others you know whose names are not on this list. They all need God to change their current situation.
Although the situation in Haiti is worsening, God continues to write new, better pages in the grand story of Living Water. It is heartwarming to observe, even admire, the progress of the kids of the orphanage. They are blessings to me and many others. They are very encouraging. Better attitude. Better grades. Better mindset. Much better behaviors. They are all smart kids in their own way. It aches me to think that there are so many of them out there who do not have such an opportunity. Thanks to all of you who have been investing in them.
My car has been in terrible shape for over a month now. I still cannot find the parts I need to repair it because of the situation in the country. My friend, Pastor Pierre Vaugelas, let me use his Land Cruiser in the meantime. The kids enjoyed every mile we traveled together in that vehicle.
The University presents many challenges for the other members of the team and me. However, seeing young people from different backgrounds join their voices in praise of God is amazing. Seeing students entrusting their lives to Jesus on campus is enriching and brings us much joy. We need God’s intervention to solve our problems. I know that better days are ahead for the university by the power of Jesus Christ.
I thank God for Living Water kids. They give me much hope. Whether they are running and laughing during recess on school campuses or sitting quietly and calmly during worship services, God will use them to bring about a renaissance in Haiti. Haiti will be again the Pearl of the Antilles. Let us continue to invest in them so they can be the leaders and workers who will foster Haiti’s true development.
Over the last few months considerable progress has been made on the construction of Marotte Church. For the sake of the building’s strength we cannot just complete the sanctuary as I once envisioned and complete the classrooms later. The concrete roof of the whole building must be done at once. In the pictures please observe the building’s progress, including the sanctuary section and the classrooms. All the preparations have already been made to begin framing the roof. Please pray for the rapid progress of the building’s construction. It is my strongest desire to launch this New Church plant alongside my brother Luke.
I want you to know that the primary reason for my presence in Tennessee is that I will graduate from Johnson University this weekend. Thanks to many of you, my Ph.D. has been completed. Thanks for all the ways you have made this degree possible. May God continue to bless you!
Please remember to pray for Living Water, and continue to partner with us in spreading the gospel.
Yours and His,
Salonique Adolphe and Team
