School in session
Dearest friends and supporters,
Greetings to you in the name of Our Great God and Savior, JESUS!
I am very sorry for taking such a long, long time to provide this update. It was not on purpose. In fact, I suffered for not being able to send it. We have been having problems with our Internet equipment. We do not know when that will be solved. I am able to send this update to you because brother Micah made a trip to Port-au-Prince so that he could e-mail and send me pictures. I am writing this message from Moberly, MO.
I, Salonique, am doing very well. Your other teamates in Haiti are doing very well. We hope that you are doing very well also.
We have never stopped cleaning. We have never stopped working. We continue to work so we can get our campus back to normal and move on from there to do what we can for the rest of the city. As a result of our hard labor our school was able to open last Monday (November 10th).
We were happily suprised to have 200 students show up for school on the first day. Since the city was still in such a mess, we did not expect many students the first day. Even better news is that last Wednesday we had 250 kids in classes. I do not know about you, but as for me, I praise God for that. I have included a couple pictures of the students. They are ready to learn. Thanks to all of you who make that possible. Thanks in particular to Joan and Ray Conns and to Jean Robert Cadet. May God bless you for providing books for all elementary kids. I want to thank Jeanne Perricone and Arlie Mathena for providing a bike for Ronald ,the young man they sponsor. Many sponsor have done the same. You briighten the lives of these children. Many thanks to you.
One of the results of your gracious gifts is that more people are coming to visit Living Water Christian Church. As a result they gave their lives over to Jesus. Several people were baptized into Christ just recently. Brother Louis Jean Gilles and Ezechiel performed the baptism at Mapou River. Praise God for these new souls. Kids are back in school. Souls are entering into the kingdom. We are continuing to work on our building so that we have a place to welcome them in a more comfortable way.My friend Brad and his fellow brothers of Ironmen bought us a Basic Utility Vehicle, the long version for BUV. This little machine has done wonders already. They used it to transport school supplies, gas and bags of cement. The only thing that I did not think they could do with it was transporting sand and gravel for construction. Well, my guys did. This week the guys have been busy working on making the offices nicer by polishing the floor and making it nice. Well they use the BUV to transport all the building materials they needed. Praise God for that. Thanks to our brothers. I call this BUV a treasure and that is what it is. I think all missionaries working in a third world country should own one. They work. They are easy to manage.
As our guys are working hard in Gonaives, we need to pray for them. We are praying for you too. May God shower His blessings on you.May God bless you all.
In Him,
Salonique Adolphe
