Children's Church on Christmas Eve

Happy New Year

Dear brothers and sisters

Greetings to you in the Holy name of Jesus!

I pray that you all had a Merry Christmas. Christmas this past year was quite different from Christmas in the previous years in Haiti. One can hardly see Christmas lights in homes. The joyful buoyancy, which has been the key characteristic of our streets on Christmas eve, was lacking. To make things worse, the traditional city wide cleaning of the streets and corners from Christmas eve to New year’s eve did not take place. It has been depressing and repulsive to see our streets. The systematic establishment of the gangs and the strengthening of their authority in Haiti have changed for the end of the year festivities for the worse.

Despite the situation, we celebrated Christmas as we should. The first Christmas brought hope to the world. May this past Christmas bring hope to Haiti. The first Christmas brought the Prince of Peace into this world. May this past Christmas bring peace in Haiti and in our world.

My most recent trip to the United States was a blessing. It was a blessing to see so many friends that I have not seen for 4 years or more. It was a blessing to rekindle our friendships with so many friends. It was a blessing to meet with people who have never heard of Living Water before, or who have not had a proper understanding of the scope of the ministry of Living Water. It was heartwarming to be hosted, fed, and given rides by so many friends to travel through all the States and to and from Churches. Thanks to all of you!

Thank you for all the gifts whether they were monetary gifts or something else. Everything you did for me was a confirmation that you are with me, and Living Water in the service of the Lord. Together, we will continue to impact Haiti in an irreversibly positive way.

Since I came back home two weeks ago, I have been extremely busy. Three weddings, several meetings, Christmas activities, an awesome new year’s eve service, preachings, and teachings, home visits, to name a few. I did sleep for 8 hours or more the first two nights when I arrived home. Incredible! Because I was really tired by the time I made it home.

I have some wonderful news to share. International Assist Medical Missions (IAMM) donated 25,000 USD to increase the capacity of the health clinic in solar energy. We finally have all the supplies in. Work will begin tomorrow (January 3rd). We also received a gift of 10,000 USD from a couple for the expansion of the health clinic. Now we need 110,000 for the project of the expansion of the health clinic. Our friends Cody McDaniel, Al and Vicky Wright, Windy Arkon, Dan and Cindy Barrick and a host of others have collected the money needed to drill the deep well needed at the orphanage. We now need funds for solar power at the orphanage.

We also received a 2,000 USD gift toward the fence at the University. We now need 98,000 USD for the project. Let me inform you that the university has over 250 students this year. Please join us in training godly leaders and workers for Haiti. Please remember the project of the New Church Plant, we need 60,000 USD for that.

We thank every supporter who gave one dollar or tens of thousands of dollars to Living Water. We make things happen here. You make it possible for the gospel to be preached and taught. You make it possible for people to be taught, fed, and cared for. You make it possible for us to be a blessing for many.

We have a great year ahead of us. It will be great not because of us humans, but because of the God we serve. He has already all the plans and strategies in place to help us overcome the obstacles, and win the battles ahead of us. We just need to be faithful. We just need to trust HIM!

Happy New Year, my friends,

Salonique Adolphe and team
