The mountain mover

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you in the name of Our God, JESUS!

I went downtown this morning. It was not a pretty sight. Saying that the streets are polluted is an understatement. I know people use the same expression to describe conditions I have seen that are 100 times better. Downtown is dusty, smelly, muddy and crowded. If you go there you are taking a risk of getting sick. I can’t speak for other people but I could hardly open my eyes because the dust burns my eyes. One has to keep her/his nose protected all the time. The situation is tough! We need a lot of prayers for the city and her officials. God is The Mountain Mover, He can move this mountain for us when we pray.

The people are still living in fear. Just 30 minutes ago we had a brief rain shower. It has put most people in a state of panic. Please pray that God moves the mountain of our fears.

I made a mistake last night and I am sorry. I failed to mention the mosquito nets that brother Micah Prophete brought back with him from the States two weeks ago. Fran Burton and several other people bought a number of mosquito nets and sent them with Micah. The funny thing is that it was those nets that made sleeping possible for not just me, but for my wife and kids. Brother Micah did not use any net the first night. He spent the whole night not being able to sleep. Several other people received those nets. Some of the nets are for kid size beds. This posting has a picture of my son Eliel comfortably sleeping on a bed. He was well protected from the devilish mosquitos. This specific net was sent by our beloved friend and sister Fran Burton and teamates.

Well, what did we do today? The ladies and a few men washed school desks, tables and file cabinets. The men worked to remove more mud from the porch of both the first and the second school building. Several people worked in salvaging concrete blocks. We salvaged about 400 today. Other people were cleaning and washing classrooms. We had a cooking team on the ball once again to feed hungry people. Yesterday, in the second meal, they cooked 55 lbs of rice. This is almost what they cook on a daily basis.

Today I looked around and saw how much we have done so far. We have done a lot. It is very impressive to see. Yet when I look around to see what is yet to be done I shook my head. The solution is far away in my human eyes but The Mountain Mover can easily move it for His glory.
