Greetings to you in His name!

We usually say, “Like father, like son.” Jesus said, “My Father is working.” He also said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve“. Everything God has done from creation until today He did for us, His creatures and thus for others. Everything Jesus did when He was on earth He did for mankind — again for others. As daugthers and sons we should do everything for others.

Many people have been working tirelessly since we began the cleaning process. They shovel dirt; push wheelbarrows of mud from worship centers and classrooms; wash chairs, benches, desks and other school materials. They cook, distribute food (cooked and uncooked). They distribute Bibles and this past Sunday mosquito nets. They do all this for others.

When we do this we help each other. We have fellowship with each other. We counsel each other and we care for each other. When we are doing something on campus we do not see ourselves. We see the community. We see Living Water. All of the people benefiting from these activities are God’s people.

Those who carried 50 chairs or more to fill the worship center will use only one chair on Sunday. The other 49 are for others. Those who are removing mud and cleaning are mostly adults. Some have never been in school. Others left school a long time ago. Still others go to a different school. When they come to clean they are doing it for others. Those who are salvaging blocks may never sit inside the building these blocks will be used to build. They may use it for a only few years. Later it will be used by others — people they may never know.

The donors give for the wellbeing of others. This past week and this past Sunday we distributed many mosquito nets. Yesterday we distributed over 200 of them. Last week we distributed a good number as well. Where did we find them? It all began almost 5 months ago. Natalie Cleeton, daughter of professor Dan Schantz (Central Christian College of the Bible), wrote me an e-mail. She told me that her organization “Malaria fini”, (literally malaria ends) can finance or help us find mosquito nets. The nets help us fight the mosquitos and consequently save lives by preventing people from getting malaria. Well, to cut the story short, Malaria fini sent us 2,500 USD to buy mosquito nets. We thank God for Dr. Wall. Professor Wall’s contributions to the organization has helped many countries around the world. Dr. Wall and Natalie are doing this for others.

We did not buy all the nets at once because we wanted to test the distribution process. We will buy the rest of the nets with the remaining money tomorrow. We will continue the distribution over the weekend. We plan to buy 300 more mosquito nets this time. Each net costs a little over 5 USD. We need to continue working to improve the living conditions of others. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all do like Jesus and “serve” instead of waiting “to be served.”

We had a wonderful church service yesterday with about 300 people in attendance. Brother Abel said he counted 298 but it is easier to say we had an even 300 people. Brother Monexant led the worship. Abel taught Sunday School and I preached. A number of us distributed the mosquito nets.

Let us continue to serve others, for His glory.
