Merry Christmas

Dear beloved friends and supporters,

Christ is still the reason for the season in spite of all the efforts that human beings have made to change it. Funny! They are still giving gifts to friends and relatives to remember the greatest gift that the world has every received, a gift well articulated in what may be the most memorized text of all time — John 3:16. We thank God for JESUS in whom all the fulness of deity dwells. He is my God and yours.

Talking about gifts, almost four months after the Hurricanes, the people of Gonaives are looking for something that they can brag about before the year end. Their hope is in the soccer players of the team of the city. After all the toils and difficulties the soccer team managed to make it to the championship game. It is tomorrow. The city is longing for a victory. Their Christmas wish this year is for a trophy. We will see.

Brother Sumption, after a lot of toil and challenges, succeeded in sending Luke to be home with friends and family. We all say that it is very kind of brother Jack and his wife Stephanie to do this for us. My family is happy. The nephews and nieces are happy. The friends are happy. I have sent a picture of Luke addressing the congregation, telling them that he was shocked to see how devastated their situation was. Nevertheless he is happy to be home. He encouraged them to stay in the race.

Removing dirt from the cafeteria

Removing dirt from the cafeteria

Many, many families and individuals have donated funds to build the cafeteria. The construction is coming to an end. Praise God and thanks to you. We finally have access to clean it. The mud is not mud anymore. It has become dirt. Attached is a picture where they are taking dirt out. Guys are working very hard to complete it. The school children say their patience is almost gone. Thanks to all of you for such a gift. You were preparing our happy Christmas months and years ahead.

Living Water is giving hundreds of homes mosqito nets as a Christmas gift. This was made possible through a gift from Malaria Fini, an organization led by Mrs. Cleeton. The people are very grateful for such a gift. Unfortunately we cannot satisfy everybody. As I was typing this paragraph I received a phone call from someone asking if he could get a couple nets for his family. He said the mosquitos are giving his family a hard life. Even if we had five thousand nets it would not be enough. Praise God for those nets and we pray we can receive more. Thanks to Dr. Wall who generously provide the funds to Malaria Fini. Enclosed are two pictures about the nets. Enjoy them all.

Thanks to all of you who keep touching our hearts with encouragements. They mean the world to all of us. Thanks to Martelle Christian Church family. They have encouraged me in a time that I needed it most, especially with the difficulties we were having. May God bless you all.

Merry Christmas!!! Keep Christ in Christmas, please.

Because of Christ,
