A full church

It’s harvest time

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you wherever you are in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Yesterday I sat in the worship service looking over the largest crowd since we moved into the building and saw so many new faces. I couldn’t help thinking about John chapter 4. For the disciples the harvest is months away but for Jesus it is harvest time. It did not take long for a huge harvest to take place in Samaria.

Since the hurricane Living Water has been very busy working in the community. We acted in silence yet the word is out. We made the food deliveries quietly in people’s homes, yet the news is on the streets. They are even talking about it on the radio station in town as a model of how food distribution should be done. I have not heard the testimony personnally, but other leaders of the team heard it.

The variety of actions we took encouraged many people to be willing to give us their ears. They sit in silence, sing, praise, pray and listen to whatever is being said.

Yesterday when we announced our decision about education, taken on faith, some people jumped and others claped. To them that is great news. Of course we are making these decisions in the hope that God’s people will continue to help these people out of the difficult situation they are in after these hurricanes.

They were overjoyed when we announced that children from grades 1-6 will receive all their books from the school. One person asked about the cafeteria. We told them the cafeteria for the students will be operational soon. Again that brought them joy. They are glad that brothers and sisters in the US care enough to make these things possible for them.

Four people came forward after the message brought by brother Jacob. Three of them were visiting Living Water for the first time. The other one has been coming for a while and a fifth one decided to place her membership with us.

It may seem unusual to be harvest time, given the situation we are in, but it is. We need to be ready for the harvest as a church and as church servants.

Distributing more mosquito nets

Distributing more mosquito nets

We had 550 adults and children in service yesterday morning. It was a full, full house. A lot of people sat outside. Rosemond taught Sunday school. Ezechiel Prophete led worship and Jacob preached.

Many of the people came with the hope that they would receive a mosquito net and they were not disappointed. We had not advertised the nets but everybody received a mosquito net. We will need more mosquito nets to distribute to people in the community.

Thank God for all those who give! Thank God for all those who make wonderful suggestions. Thank God for all those who serve God by serving Living Water and other Christian efforts.

Tomorrow I will be going to Carries to visit with brother Wilckly. I hope we have a good time together.

I pray that today’s pictures give you reasons to praise God. My friends, I do not know about where you are, but here it is harvest time. Let us do everything possible to bring even one to the Lord.

In Christ,
