Team work

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you all in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Savoir and Our Lord!

This week about two millions of people flocked to Washington to see the inaugural ceremony of President Barack Obama. I did not have the time nor the tools necessary to watch it, but I wanted to. There is no doubt that Mr. Obama is where he is as the president of the grandest country in the world because he had a team working with him and for him. Now our job is to apply what the Bible teaches us: pray for our leaders. When we look at 1 Timothy and Hebrews we see that includes political and spiritual leaders. If we team up and pray for them they will do a good job because God answers the prayers of His children.

Team work made it possible for our church here at Living Water to be back in session as early as the middle of September. We cleaned the Junior worship center and have been using it since then. We then cleaned the adult worship place and it has been in use since then. We then cleaned all the classrooms and we have been enjoyed their use since November.

Then we cleaned part of the school yard to give the students a place to play — small as it may be. The yard is still filled with mold and dirt. The challenge to clean the playground is not minor — it is major. However, team work can move mountains of mud. I have included a picture of how the campus looks now and two pictures of how it looked in 2008 before the hurricane.

Do you remember that I told you about the team from Central Christian College of the Bible who came to work on the cafeteria? Brother Bill Fudge joined that team as well. While they were here my brother Joe Green and Bill teamed up together to see what they can do. Their goal was not just to remove the dirt from the campus, but also to help the people in the surrounding area. So they came up with the project to buy a Bobcat and to make it available for Living Water. They intend to train a couple of trustworthy men to use it and take care of it. The price for the Bobcat is 15,000 US dollars. Team work can make their dream come true.

Praise God for Christian Campus Fellowship; for Country side Christian Church, Ray Ivy, Jim Williams, Calvin Steinke and their teamate. Praise God for IDES. These institutions and fellow Christians have teamed together to donate and pay for the shipment of a bus filled with goods for us in Haiti. Others contributed to pay the custom fees.

The bus is a huge blessing. In fact last Monday one of the members of the Church had a parent who passed away. About 50 of us rode the bus to attend the funeral. He was encouraged to see that many people come to a distant village for the funeral.

The clothes and food from the bus were used to help a family in the Church. They lost the few belongings they had left in a fire last Sunday. The fire left nothing for them. After the last two hurricanes Jude the builder advised us that their house needed to be rebuilt. Jude warned that without repairs their house could colapse and we could lose everybody in it. We had plan to rebuild it with funds provided by IDES. Now we need to rebuild it as soon as possible.

Pray for the family who lost everything in the fire: Jonas and Chrislene Jean Pierre. Chrislene is my sister. Praise God that her four children were spared in spite of the complete loss of the things inside the house and the damage to the structure of the house. Their 7 year old child saved the lives of her younger siblings. Neither Jonas nor his wife were home when the fire started. Neighbors came to help fight the fire. Again, team work! Without the quick action of the people in the community more houses might have been destroyed. The last picture shows the young couple who lost their home in the fire.

I have also included a photo of some of our new students. Thanks to all of you who sent computers to us. We found 6 computers in the bus and we have already put them in use. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We love you and we appreciate all you do.

In Christ,

Salonique
