Living Water update in brief

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to all of you in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord!

Instead of worshiping here in Gonaives last Sunday I went to Ennery, a small town where we have one of our churches. The preacher is actually a student of our Bible College. I didn’t go to preach but to hear him preach and to encourage him to continue to do a good job. I met with the congregation after the service.

The young preacher’s name is Jilly. His father was the preacher of the Church, but went home a year ago. Since then Jilly hesitantly has stepped in to be the preaching minister. Pray for Jilly. They worshiped with 50, but sickness and the rain in the night kept many people home. They need your prayer and your encouragement to continue with the task of winning the lost there.

In Gonaives that same day they had a total of 533 people in both services. Marmelade had 88 people in worship. Ezechiel, a student of our Bible College was preaching in Marmelade. Fevrier, the principal of the school and a student at our Bible College was preaching at our Church here in Gonaives. Jilly was doing the same thing in Ennery. Vanaud was in her village church and other students were doing various ministerial activities. Praise God for that!

At the school we caught another fish this week. A 7th grader surrendered her life to Christ. Pray for her.

At the school here we had 551 this week. Everybody is in school now. We are not expecting other students. They continue to learn.

One parent confessed that one of the major reasons why she likes our school is our Christian principles. “The morning devotions are like gold” she said.

One of our supporters asked, “What will our graduates do when they are done here?” Well, some want to go into Computer Science; others to nursing; others to Med school; others say political science.

We even have one student who wants a career in cinematography. He argues that we need to make good Christian films to influence the next generation in thinking like Christ.

One says that she wants to go into Agronomy because she wants to do farming. We have all kinds of dreams.

But knowing the students and their parents, their only hope is God. We hope that we will find sponsors for them to help to have a college education. When they are done with their college education, I am sure they will find a job somewhere in Haiti.

My sister was accepted into medical school. She also earned a scholarship after a contest. It is supposed to be a full ride scholarship. Yet the daily expenses for food, books and lodging make me scratch my head. I am asking for your help so that she can go to medical school. This is what she has always wanted. We will need 300 dollars a months to cover all her expenses: transportation, food, books, photocopies and the like. She should be in class this coming Monday.

I thank all of you who support a child at Living Water. I am asking you for a favor. Pleasee-mail me your name and the child that you support. This request is for brother Joanes who is the liaison between you and your kids. This will allow him to have direct correspondence with you.

What else is going on? Well, I am heading to Port-au-Prince in less than hour. I am going to visit other ministries in the Port-au-Prince area. I will have my friends Micah and Melio with me. I am going to see what they are doing and to visit with them.

Have a Christ filled day.

In Christ,

Salonique Adolphe
