You make impossible possible

Dear beloved brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you in the name of Our Lord Jesus who is the reason for the season.

I am writing with great joy. I have so much joy, I do not even know how to express it. Yet I have it in my heart and if you could see my face it would be easy for you to read it. Why? Because great things have happened this week. You say again? Yes, again. We had a lot of wonderful things happen last week and we have other wonderful things happening again this week. Thank God! With God and His people the impossible becomes possible.

You want to know what has happened? Ok, here is it. When I wrote to you a few days ago, I told you next week the concrete roof of the cafeteria would be poured. You remember? Actually, the roof was poured today. When Jude, our beloved construction man, was talking last week he wanted to be conservative. He had several obstacles in front of him that he did not want to underestimate. It turns out that God moved them one by one with gracefull flow. So when he saw that he basically said sooner is better. So he changed his mind and the guys worked like crazy and as a result the roof is a reality. Praise God. Thank you.

Start of Cafeteria in February, 2008

Start of Cafeteria in February, 2008

The cafeteria started last year. We laid the block in February of this year and today the roof is in (Dec 11, 08). What does this mean? It means that more than 400 people will have a daily hot meal. That is something they may not receive at home. These people are our students, our teachers and other employees of Living Water. Some of the people in the community will come for sure for their share of the food as well. Having food may mean an increase in learning capacity for the students later in the day contrary to the previous years. Consequently, it can mean better results in school. It will ease parents who are struggling to find one meal a day for their kids. It will mean a savings for employees of Living Water. I am overjoyed to see that the dream I had a long time ago is actually coming to fruituition.

I am encouraging people who want to help Haitians in Gonaives with nutrition to give toward this effort. If you want to feed Haitian kids this is a good way to help them. The actual name of the program is RBK (Rice and Beans for Kids). God will reward you when you do.

Another good thing that happened earlier this week is that we had the privilege of hiring a contractor with a front loader (excavation equipment) for one day. The heavy equipment can move the mud from the flood very fast. He originally agreed for two days. But after the first day he said it would not be good for him because his equipment wouldl get stuck for sure in the mud if he continued. We thank God for that one day. We thank you for providing funds to us so we could pay his service for the day. You have moved a lot of dirt and you have generated more space for the students to play and for other people to enjoy. You have made the impossible possible.

I want to thank God for everyone who has given to Living Water — either for the Cafeteria specifically, or to Living Water as an institution. You have helped us to: break ground; lay the foundation; lay block; do the framing and today pour the roof. Thank you very much. I hope someday you will come to see the results.

I am sending you a few pictures. May they give you reasons to pray and reasons to praise.

In Christ,

Salonique Adolphe
