Blessings upon blessings

Dear brothers,

Greetings to you in HIS name!

As I am writing it is very cool here. I was tempted to put on a sweatshirt this morning, yet at the same time I said to myself that many of my friends in the States would enjoy this 70+ degrees weather. However, a slight breeze makes it feel cooler and some of my countrymen would even say cold. For many of you there is snow on the ground. However it is where you are, it comes from God, so enjoy it.

The Lord has been good to us. We rejoice because of that. We bow down in worship before God because of that. We thank all of you who support Living Water with your prayers, your pockets, your purse, your pens, and your plane tickets. You have been good to us. We worship God with more confidence because of you. More people come to Christ because of what you have done. And, more people are growing deeper in Christ because of what you have done.

This year we have had about 70 people who surrendered their lives to Christ at Living Water here in Gonaives. We have a third of that who surrenderd their lives to Christ in the water of Baptism in Marmelade, not counting those who were Christians before and who got discouraged and who are now returning to God because of these ministries. Praise be to God and thanks to you.

We have received many blessing in term of material things. We have been given more classrooms, better facilities, vehicles, chairs, new buildings, better equipment and the list goes on. We prostrate before God and say thanks to Him for these blessings.

In the spiritual realm we don’t have a clue how many victories the Lord has given to us. How many times He used Living Water to show the enemy His power just like He says in Ephesians. I just don’t know. I do know that many people who were under demonic oppression are now free. I do know that many who were supposed to be witch doctors are now glorifying God. I am humbled by these blessings.

God gives us the blessing of having you as partners to educate chilren in Haiti. He blesses us with students to train for Haiti. He blesses us with people to train for ministry. Yes, blessings upon blessings.

The blessing he gave us in the last two weeks of the year are too many to count. We were privileged to have mom and dad Green spend Christmas with us. We had Denis and Jerusha Smith. Jerusha is a very good friend of kids. We had Paul Green all the way from Alaska who came to spend Christmas with us as well. Wow!! Talk to me about a treat! They have worked hard; preached and taught. Paul and Denis organized our storage room — something that looked like an impossible task at first. We thank God for all of them.

As we enter 2010 I wish all of you a Happy New Year. May we all grow closer to Him. May we look like Him more each passing day of the coming year. May we serve Him extravagantly just as He loves us extravagantly. May we give ourselves to Him without any reserve. May we walk by faith and not by sight to the point we do what the old missionary Carey advised: “Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God.”
