Stop and think/thank

Dear brothers and sisters,

First of all, thanks to all of you who have prayed for Living Water as a whole and for me in particular. I now feel much better. Each passing day teaches me that God is in control and He will provide while stretching us.

Now, I greet all of you in the name of Our Great God: JESUS. He is able!

Yesterday, we made the giant move to have two services. The first worship service is 6-8 AM. From 8-9 AM is Sunday School. The second worship service is 9-11 AM.

Saturday night we were not quite sure what would happen on Sunday morning. Not only because we don’t know the future, but the sky of Gonaives was troublesome. We had terrible thunder and lightning then rain. Although the whole thing lasted only 50 minutes to 1 hour it was enough to scare a lot of people. It did not prevent us from having the rehearsal for Sunday morning, but we could not know what Sunday would bring.

It turned out that we had 205 people in the first service and 107 people in the second The junior worship had 115. We are off to a great start.

Stop and think/thank. When we started 6 years ago we had a humble beginning. But today the Lord has poured His blessings on us to the point where we now have two services. Praise be to Him! We had one teanage girl and one teanage boy came forward at the end of the second service. We had more people in Sunday school than ever.

One of the biggest events of the day was that we have decided on the perimeter of the new Church building. Bill Fudge took the initiative of doing that as he and Tim are patiently waiting for the Bobcat to be cleared from customs. If you could follow the flags you would see the outline of the Church building. This afternoon, after the leadership meeting, we went to see it. We sang. We prayed. Now we are waiting on God to provide money for the wall of the Church property and for breaking ground on the Church building.

Th government people and the shipment company keep delaying the delivery of the Bobcat until “tomorrow” — a tomorrow which is yet to come. I can’t understand the reason for such a long delay. There is a mystery here remaining to be solved. So please pray for the Bobcat to be delivered unto us this week. We don’t want it to grow either legs nor wings (and can’t be found).

Yesterday we had our first parents meeting before we officially start the school year. We want all parents to know our expectations. We want them to take their responsibilities. We want them to come along with us to make the education of their kids possible. Not all of them were present. We had roughly 175 parents. They expressed their gratitude to the school and to the sponsors because the sponsors make it possible for their kids to be in school and in a good school.

This year we will exceed the 500 students that we anticipated for this academic year. It may even come close to 600 students. We pray that God will use all the teachers and staff, particularly Monexant and Jean Gilles, to lead those students who do not know Jesus yet to come to know HIM as Savior and Lord.

In this news item we have a picture of Wilketia. She has just received a box from her sponsor. Can you tell that she is happy? She is not alone. Several other kids received their precious box. They all had the joy of ripping the papers or ducktape to get to their precious gifts sent by their sponsors. Thank you! May God bless you for making those students realize that there are people who really care.

The last picture shows the foundation of the southern wall of the school. They should start laying block this week. Pray for that as well.

I know that you are busy, but stop and think about all the Lord has done for our people here and thank God on their behalf.

We love you and we pray for you as well.

In Christ,

Salonique Adolphe
